I expected Ian to be a 17, 8, and 4 type of player. He missed due to injury, whatever. I had the highest of hopes for him. Never materialized. I wish him all the best. He seems like he is the ultimate team player.

Those seem like really high expectations for any kind of player. That would put him on the top 5 player in GMU history territory.

We'll just agree to disagree. That's what I expected given his highlights. Didn't work out. Time to move on.

Yep, many of Mason's fans suffer from delusions of grandeur. The greatest source of all human suffering comes from desire.

Ian has one more season of eligiblity remaining. Let's see where it takes him and not burden him with wild expectations.

Part of it is we played him out of position for 2 and a half years. He was running the 4 at one point, he’s perfectly sized as a strong 2 guard.

This. Dude coulda been great but again because of paulsens inability to produce a big man we had a shooting guard /small forward Play the 4

Probably played a part in the injury/inability to recover when he tried to play through it having to push up against dudes with 4-5 inches and 50 lbs every night. Doesn’t seem like it but that stuff adds up.

Bad knees. Bothered him off and on through his first three years.
His knees couldn’t bear the weight of all those muscles. Half kidding.

I think he could of been really good. He had a nice three point shot. He could drive to the hoop. injuries just plagued him.

GIVING DAY 2023
Now can we all admit that no one on this board knows anything?

just going to address this now that situations change. I got tipped off to this, this morning and was very pleasantly surprised.

everyone I asked over the last 6 months said he was gone.

very very good news though.

I'm not saying people on here aren't talking to people in the program, it just seems that 90% of the time the source is either wrong or like a guy working the Paisano's booth or something.
