How many more games before Boyd starts over Mar. Mar might have a slight edge in terms of defense, but Boyd is pretty good on defense and grabs rebounds.

I don't know, if you start Boyd, a, you make us supremely undersized and, b, you have no one on that second line you can count on to get points. Your bench would become Mar (3.6ppg), Calixte (3.9 ppg), Hartwell (1.7 ppg), and AJ Wilson (4.4 ppg).

Plus, Boyd's first sub-in can come at the 2, 3, or 4 spot whereas you can't do the same for Mar.

Good point about the versitility of Boyd. I just think the threat of Boyd’s three opens up the paint. Which is why I prefer him over Mar. But you’re right it’s nice to sub him in for the 2-4

As much as we'd all like to see guys like Calixte or Boyd start, I think they have the most value to the team coming off the bench. And just because guys start, doesnt' mean they'll end up playing the most minutes if they dont perform (see Reuter/Mar).

When Boyd comes in and scores and shoots from 3, it gives the team an awesome energy. It is still the best fit for a guy like him who can come in, defend well, get a key rebound or hit a three.

I would prefer the best players start - why not get that awesome energy from the start of the game instead of waiting?

I would be happy to see Calixte and Boyd starting in place of Reuter/Mar.

It’s a fair point but it’s also a marathon and not a sprint. At some point those guys need to come out and then you can suck for a while too. I think the philosophy Paulsen uses is that it’s most important who finishes and to end on the best note possible but of course if you start slow that makes it hard too. No perfect setup.

I like our starters now because we get to see early what kind of night it's going to be, specificly with Mar and Reuter. Minutes are more important to me than who starts, so if Reuter is going to sh!t the bed, better to find out early and get Greg in. If Reuter is doing well, then keep him in.

Not only Mar and Reuter but shouldnt Otis be included too? Its debatable if he should play 34 mins and have only 6pts. Does Hartwell come in? Does Kier move to Pg in certain game situations? I don't know answer but I feel like a few things could help us win more.

The other small mistake was having Calixte in late who cannot make ft's. Left possible 4pts on the floor.

Finally, is it too much to get AJ to also do what Kier did vs the zone? Attack middle soft spot with jumpers and/or drives to basket? Aj is only big closest to being complete.

I feel like players 1-4 should work on the FT jumper as a way to combat swinging the ball around the perimeter. Mar especially with his length should be able to get into that part of the zone and knock down a shot. Would love to see AJ taking that shot and then crashing the boards if he misses.
