Keep in mind, when it's done you won't have the fence and all the construction stuff cluttering up the picture. And this is just a corner in what now amounts to a very long building that's all glass on the first floor.

I will have to get detailed pictures for Walter. When you see the full plan for the library - it is in two phases that will ultimately wrap the Library tower result in the removal of the center and left wing of the old library opening up the old quad making it larger with much nice site lines. This will have a dramatic impact on that part of the campus - not to mention getting a really nice library.

Here are a few more pictures, for those who don't get to witness Mason construction nearly as often. The first two pictures were taken in a part of campus that has changed a ton in the past ten years: the area between the Commons and Fenwick, where they've built a ton of student housing and a dining hall.
The other one is of the construction site for the new health sciences building on Lot H. No sign of the new building yet, but getting around there is a lot more annoying these days.

I can't honestly say that I like it. I'm not sure what it is but everything looks very cookie cutter and for some reason dated (mid 2000's ikea catalog). Another issue is the lack of branding. Can we have GMU signage, personalized Mason tables, chairs, something that tells you that you are at Mason. Those pictures could've been taken from any building on any campus. Outside looks pretty sweet.

With the rain garden and the tea café to be installed, maybe they were going for a minimlist Zen sorta thing. Too many Mason logos might disrupt your positive chi life forces, ya know.

Maybe we aren't branding Mason logo's because of a possible logo change? One can hope.

Hopefully they get the funding soon to tear down the old A wing and expand the "quad." God I just hope that a good chunk of that "faster, farther" money goes to campus facilities because there's still a whole lot that needs to get built/renovated before we start to get the cool little extra's we want like a practice facility, greek row, better Mason Stadium, etc...

The interior signage follows the branding profile which is nice I think putting the university crest or logo on some of glass in the building or the 'grand staircase' would be a nice touch. I'm sure they will later on.

FWIW, the transformation of campus is nothing short of staggering. It's almost unrecognizable from 20 years ago

My family's association with Mason started in 1978. Here is what Mason looked like in the mid-to-late 70s. Yes, the development of the campus is pretty amazing. I've spoken with quite a few folks who attended during the George Mason College of UVa days in the 1960s, very interesting stories.
