GIVING DAY 2023
If you guys don’t know Ken aka TSG, he is a great guy. He has helped me out numerous times with Mason items.

I mean, I can understand if you don’t think he should be the one throwing out the 3 point shirts, but the personal shots are lame.

It never ceases to amaze me how the most critical on here are usually the ones who aren't actually fans and want to take personal shots because its easy to hide behind a keyboard.

Now that there is a video board and the lights go off, what other things can be added to the gameday experience, other than putting old fans in a section like sleeperpick suggested. And realistic ideas, not ideas asking for luxury suites or filet Mignon in the gold room.

PMP-your continued attacks on TSG are not only tired and viscous, but unwarranted.

Not that it will sway you since many on here have said similar, but, for what it is worth, TSG is one of the best people I have ever met and a very loyal supporter of Mason. He was an excellent ambassador for Mason as TSG (and still is). He always made sure to take care of kids in the stands (a great way to get loyal parents). Additionally, I have lost count of the number of people that collect Mason gear that he has helped out with their collections. His wife is a pretty darn good supporter of the school as well in so many ways.

When Mason ended his service as TST in a manner unbefitting the service he had provided to Mason, in my opinion, he would have been justified in ending his season tickets and financial support. He is a better man than me. Instead, he and his wife bought more season tickets and has continued to increase his donations. I think they buy a whole row these days. They are the only reason I have been to any Mason home games since the virus.

The school stopped using his services years ago. You got your wish. There is no need to keep pouring salt on those wounds. If you have an ounce of decency in your body, please let it go.

just no more chili. The bathroom near section 115 is always so packed 7 mins into the game.

Completely concur. My family, specifically my three kids, have been treated extremely well by Ken over the last decade and he and his wife support the men's team, the women's team, and other sports. You can't ask for more loyalty from nicer people. If that didn't mean anything, he was actually ten times better at the t-shirt job than anything we have had since.

Sorry if this has been mentioned, but students and band could meet by Johnson Center and march to seats

I don't think that's a good idea. Green Machine is $, but considering student support is lacking much of the time, it would be a really bad look.

Forgive me if this has already been mentioned in the string, but how about giving students the good seats? I'm even a little skeptical of this considering the severe inconsistency that they show up and it might take a little time to get it to catch on (as well as a consistent product on the floor), but it's worth a shot, possibly...

Now that the Supreme Court has made its ruling on allowing states to determine sports betting, if the Commonwealth approves it, Mason needs to get in on this action. There is $$ to be made by schools, leagues, etc. Mizzu, UConn and Rutgers were on a call with MLB yesterday about possible revenue streams. Lets use the European model and make it available at EBA.

0% chance VA legalizes it and even if they do I bet it would an incredibly watered down version.

Hell, they legalized horse racing how long ago and there's just one track in the Commonwealth. If they haven't legalized casinos yet, no way they'll legalize sports gambling anytime soon.

Even if they did, there’s no chance we’d end up with betting stalls in college facilities. They’d either prohibit that or the NCAA would.

I do believe VA will legalize some form of sports betting down the road(5 years maybe). We won’t be one of the first states that do it and like masonSAE4 said it’ll be some sort of watered down version of it. There is high demand and money to be made. I think MD will have it very quickly.

I’m sure Leonsis wants it in the Arena downtown. I for one don’t believe it needs to be in college arenas, kids do stupid things and it could get messy.

We (MD) need an ammendment which requires the state to vote on it. Right now, its not currently on the ballot for the fall but there is a huge push to get it on the ballot ASAP. When its put on the ballot, it will pass.

Whoever has so much to waste it gambling on an over/under for how many three-pointers Steph Curry makes in the third quarter playing the L.A. Clippers then I urge you to please forego such folly and send your excess cash directly to me. PM me. I have a PayPal account.
