Coach L knew to go, Coach H needs to go Mason has needed a Bobby Knight type coach since the final 4. Most of our players now are caught up in Cinderella/ 05-06 hype. Our players have no respect for what Patriots before them did and expect they should be going to the NBA and winning Final 4's because they go to George Mason.

Sorry, but I disagree with everything you are saying. You can't get emotional over one loss one game. We could of won this by 18 and you'd be on here talking about how awesome the team is. We've got more games man. Be a man. We have Oklahoma next, time to forget about the past and step up and win.

Well, to be a little fair, it's been 3 losses so far this year -- two which we spotted the team a double digit lead before waking up and a third where we built up a huge lead and then completely fell asleep at the wheel.

How does Sherrod go that entire run they had without touching the ball. He was on the floor the whole time, just invisible. That's the PG's fault and his own. Also, way to reward Jenkins dominant game by barely playing him in the second half.

I'll be surprised if our next win doesn't come against Penn, but going to the islands seemed to help us gel last year. Here's hoping it somehow happens again.

Hewitt is a mystery. No substitution pattern in his tenure at Mason. Jenkins goes for 9 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 blocks in 17 minutes last time out and is summarily dismissed in favor of Copes who tried to break a backboard on one shot. Hard for players to perform when they don't know their role on the team. Bryon Allen, exceptionally poor tonight. Sherrod, make a damn free throw. Patrick, you don't have to shoot every time you touch it. My kingdom for a point guard! Defensively, the whole team sucks. Give up a layup to lose the game? WTF? There is so much to be done in Fairfax and I have no faith that Hewitt, the players, and staff have any clue or desire to fix it.

Arledge was at the game, sat 7 rows behind me next to the band. He was trying to be Mr. Incognito with a black skull cap on. He didn't look like he wanted to be there and I didn't see any cheering or emotions from him, just stone faced. Plus his girl looked like she was enjoying her phone more than the game.

Everything up to that technical was the best basketball we've seen this year, and top 5 of the last 3 years. Then... the disappearing act. I'm not going to pretend we didn't have these games, and even bad seasons, under OCM... but I am officially done with Hewitt. This is not one loss. This is a decade long trend.

Of course you look to the next game but you have to be looking at the long term and what the long term failures are of this team. AO is constantly bad, we constantly miss FT's in important situations, we constantly go down on shitty team's, we constantly go up on big team but resort back to going down, etc etc.

This was also one of the worst officiating games I have ever seen. Pathetic bogus calls on Copes and Holloway multiple times.

You know what would really be annoying? --because this program is already starting to look like JMU -- is for Hewitt to be kept around on a leash his full 5th year and then miraculously pull a Brady in his contract year and go to the NCAA tournament. What does the AD do at that point?

Gonna be a long year. We are a Mediocre team at best. We will finish in the lower half of the A-10 this year. Just prepare yourselves for another CIT year, if that.

I'm not mad or surprised and I'm not sure why so many of you seem to be both.

It's just more of the "same old, same old" with these guys: flashes of brilliance that leave us drooling, followed by WTF just happened?

We haven't progressed mentally one iota since last season. Still terribly fragile, poorly coached -- how the F does Sherrod go 6-plus minutes with no shots?????? -- and lacking in consistency, leadership, heart and basketball IQ.

Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

USF established very early that other than Rudd, they had nobody who could make a shot outside 5 feet. We took advantage of that for long stretches by playing zone and daring them to shoot, and it was successful.

But unfortunately, we never seem to stay with what's working for very long. And eventually, we started opening up the lane for them to score the only way they could -- layups and FTs.

Blaming the refs is for losers. There are bad calls on both sides in every game. Time to face the fact that this is what we are and learn to live with it, because it ain't getting any better any time soon.

I'm just hoping one game at a time, they improve. This time they got a massive lead, then laid an egg. We never had a giant lead like that the entire year so far. Let's hope they hold on to the lead going forward
