Made it home in time to catch the second OT, commencing the full rewatch now. GLs boner can probably be seen from space right now.

Yeah, I missed the ending because my router decided to reset during the second overtime and then I had to put the kids to bed because the game lasted 10 years. I've got to see what the hell happened at the end there. I was for sure we were going to lose it (in regulation, in the first OT, and in the second too).

So we won the game on a missed free throw...I don't know what to say....Classic UMass was the baseball pass with a minute left in regulation that took zero time off the clock and got us the ball back down 5. Then leave Jordan open, foul him, and allow the and 1. I would go nuclear if I was a fan of that team....We still have so many issues, but we didn't quit (at least I think most of the team) so there's that.

What I learned tonight.....
1. McCall is the worst coach in NCAA. DP #2.
2. Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn every once in a while.
3. Jamal, who already thought that he was Michael Jordan, is now CONVINCED that he is.
4. Tre Mitchell is just NOT interested in the game.
5. We got so lucky.

Mason by 4, enough to reel a few folks off the edge, then we drop our next 5 games in a row.
Sorry guys, we’re in for a bad stretch now. Don’t expect the same Dayton team that you saw lose to LaSalle tonight.

Look, that was a pretty sloppy game but in the end Mason gutted it out. They could have folded being down in overtime but kept coming back. That’s good. I’m convinced McCall is just not a good coach, and is being saved with Bergeron recruiting. Somehow Dave has their number.

I saw a team tonight that left it all out on the floor. The defensive game plan on Mitchell was good, he got his but he didn’t go crazy. Was he uninterested? I think he was flustered.

what disappointed me so much the last game was that they didn’t leave it all out there and beat themselves. Tonight I didn’t see that. Tonight I saw a team that made me proud to root for, even if they aren’t the most talented or the best in the league. For tonight I’ll take it.

I need to see a lot more improvement for me to stfu and I don’t think conference play will go well still. Let’s see good effort for the next two games and see what happens. Dayton lost tonight so anything could happen.

other things

where was Greene for the second half and 1ot?
Kolek is a gamer. Not much more to say.
Why polite got minutes in overtime I have no idea. I give him credit for not doing too much and getting the ball to Hartwell for a 3. Right now he does not look ready for Division 1 basketball at all and I question why he even plays the few minutes he does.
Henry and Frazier are still MIA apparently. So much for the depth, because Miller played some 5.
Jordan Miller didn’t want to lose tonight.
Jamal Hartwell stepped up big with the threes tonight.

I’m not sure I get the Hartwell bashing when he’s the one who bailed us out with 19 points, 4 boards and only one turnover in 31,minutes, especially on a night when our starting PG struggled and fouled out. Sure, Jamal can get overconfident, but it’s that same swagger that enables him to knock down 4 of 5 threes when we were on life support.

Best game of his career. He has had far more bad games than good in his career. Has still yet played a halfway good defensive game on his career. Thank god for him tonight but let’s slow our roll.

Watching that baseball pass I thought we finally found a dance partner that has about the same amount of basketball IQ.

All seriousness, that win was awesome. We don't know what's gonna happen with this season so I'm gonna try to enjoy the wins just as much as I rage at the losses. Good for the boys for fighting like hell, good for Jamal, Jordan, and Kolek in particular for carrying the team when we needed it most. Also good for Polite for not trying to do anything he couldn't do in his minutes and getting a game-saving assist on one of those Hartwell 3s.

For Javon, either be here or don't. Only guy not celebrating during play and now his mom is spouting off on twitter. Figure it out.

While its nice and obviously deserved, seeing the team celebrating is a refreshing thing. However, I'd like for us to get to the point where this game, this exact game, we win, and walk off the court like been there done that or pissed we even let it me so close. Coach L used to say when a team doesn't get too overly excited on wins, and doesn't get too low on losses, they are mentally tough. Would like to see that again. I hope this team grew up little tonight.

Hartwell played well in this game.

Does anyone else think we should have been playing zone as our base defense for the last 4 seasons at least? The last time we had a guard who could defend the perimeter out of man was Marquise (used to think Javon was going to be that guy, but he's lost it).
