Playing devil's advocate here, but DP has acknowledged his need to recruit better, so if he does believe he is now bringing in better talent (yeah, jury's still out) the competition with upperclassmen is going to create some acrimony. Question is if they can overcome it and function and grow as a team.

Like what’s the point of having a senior led team if the seniors all kinda suck by the time they get there. Greg has quietly improved this year but he’s still not good enough to shout about. AJ and Javon have been wicked disappointing even if they have both showed stardom in small spurts

I was just thinking about this: If there’s a very specific type of player who can thrive under Dave’s style of coaching, but also has the skill and athleticism to succeed in the
A-10, maybe that’s the root of his recruiting problems — simply the fact that the pool of recruits who check off all the boxes isn’t that deep?

This shouldn’t be news to anyone by now but you can’t recruit or coach the same way at Bucknell and George Mason. It just won’t work.

DP coached at Bucknell for seven years. NO players transferred during his tenure. All of his players graduated.

I continue to contend that DP is not a bad coach. He just isn't the right coach for this place, at this time. Many people have known that for a long time. The reluctance to pull the trigger has made it significantly harder to move on effectively.

It looks like Greene's mom deleted all the tweets....which sucks because I was stoked to read all the BS. Never mind what happened between DP and JG, I can't imagine how embarrassed I'd be if my mom went bat shit on social media for everyone to see. It's really outta control how so many people run to social media to air their grievances these days, some things are better left discussed and dissected in private.

In regard to JG, if he takes his ball and goes home so be it. I'm not trying to take DP's side here but his actions last night are unacceptable, especially from a senior. JG was probably upset and said something he shouldn't have. This generation is so quick to skirt around accountability. Actions have consequences....and having your mom go ape on twitter doesn't help!

The only clue I have about why Greene was pulled is her mom saying something about “playing defense” last night. He only took 1 shot. So maybe when they went zone he wasn’t sticking with his assignment?

As for this generation not taking accountability, I would say I have had the opposite experience teaching them. They offer FAR fewer excuses and own up to their sh*t a lot more than the Millenials did. They have been honest to a fault with me, which is weird.

Interesting take on the college kids, I'm a HS teacher and see just the opposite. Perhaps that few extra years of maturing really does help?

Last year, 3/4 through the season, we told you DP wasn’t going to be fired. We’re here telling you again, no matter what happens, DP won’t be fired after this season.

Be constructive, be disappointed, but continue to root your a** off.....cause it is what it is. We have chosen to root hard this long, nothing has changed. We’ve known the issues.

Also, one of the biggest common gripes about our coach is his inability to place any blame on himself.

Well, hopefully Washington moves on from both of them after the ‘21 season is the disaster it is likely to be.

Ive taught high school before. And when I taught my first 300 level college class, there was no way I was going back to teaching 15 year olds.

1- Javon is not accountable for his mom's twitter. 2- you can't tell us his actions were unacceptable and then tell us what "probably" happened.

You can fault Javon for his actions but also acknowledge that DP is accountable for control of the team and situation.

As a new teacher, I yelled and kicked misbehaving kids out of class. Wrote a lot of referrals. It didn't do any good for those students nor the class. That's how I see DP. He needs a lesson in behavior management . . . and Javon needs to be more level-headed too. One of those problems is for sure gone next year. The other, we can only hope.

Or we can't hope, given ByGeorge's revelation.

THIS. When I got my first HS Football coaching job back in the day, the HC told our entire staff that after a game if we won the kids played really well and if we lost the coaches didn't do a good enough job. Constructively criticize the players in private, build them up in public.

Never said JG was accountable for his moms twitter tirade. So you think DP just benched him for no reason? You don't think JG played any kind of roll in his benching? It's all on DP? I'm far from a DP apologist but it seems like you want to give JG a pass and completely blame DP. This also isn't the first time JG has been in the coaches doghouse. In regards to behavior management, DP is quoted after the game saying that Javon's benching was a coaches decision, that he loves Javon and that he's still a big piece of the team going forward. Right out of the coaches handbook, keep whatever happened private, re-enforce the relationship and move forward.
