The rebounding issue is tied to our elite 2pt defense. Teams are shooting 40% against us from 2 - 16th in the nation - because we're challenging the hell out of everything in the paint. It's tough to challenge *and* rebound. As a result we don't always have the one or two man advantage you want for defensive rebounding. Call this the AJ Wilson corollary - you can make a great play to challenge a shot in the paint, but you can't then stop the opponent from rebounding the miss for an easy putback.
It does not stand to reason that we're elite at challenging shots in the paint but poor at rebounding because of laziness/effort. Though I will grant you those missed FTs ECU rebounded were very weird.
Agree with Patriot8 that I wouldn't really take anything from this game, Coppin State might be the single worst team in D1 this year. We still played a million lineups and all four point guards and I don't know if any of our questions got any closer to an answer.
