Well, they do so far this year. We'll have to see what happens going forward.Except they didn't suck when he watching their games from last year.

Will the coaching staff play him enough to be able to score 10 points? Will Zach Anderson score more than 10 points in this game?
Except they didn't suck when he watching their games from last year.
I would be pretty shocked, as well as pretty much anyone who is a fan of mason basketball if...Well, they do so far this year. We'll have to see what happens going forward.
I'm not disagreeing with either of you guys, and yes, Tony and staff obviously saw good things in these guys. But I still say, so far, as a whole, they stink.I would be pretty shocked, as well as pretty much anyone who is a fan of mason basketball if...
-A 46% 3 point shooter suddenly forgot how to shoot and contribute to a team
-A 1000 point scorer in the SEC forgot how to play basketball in general (yes, attitude but just take my point)
Add that to a PG who was under recruited and put things together so well for an Iona club last year late in the year which made him a "portal, move up" candidate as well as a guy who one of our guys on staff knew from his previous program that knew he'd be a contributor. I always thought that Quigley was going to be our PG but that KD would be PG1 until Quigley got settled and adjusted. Of course O'Connor appears to be PG1 at the moment which we have all beaten a drum on.
Its like what @gmujim92 this group is completely under performing at this point, and its up to Tony and company to get it right. There is way too much talent on this roster. Thankfully they have 2 games this week where it can help get them right and perhaps feel better about themselves as well.
Going forward, I would really like to see this group not lose anymore non conference games at home (and they really shouldn't other than maybe Tulane which will be the toughest game).
Its not even seeing good things- the stats show it.I'm not disagreeing with either of you guys, and yes, Tony and staff obviously saw good things in these guys. But I still say, so far, as a whole, they stink.
Or the minutes given/ways those guys are played don't make the right team...Its not even seeing good things- the stats show it.
But perhaps to your point, sometimes you put guys together and they dont' make the right team for whatever reason.
Post of the year!If we win this game, we will know where we would stand in the MEAC. So there's that.
Mason 80

If we lose this game, or this game is even really close, then there are much more serious issues than what we’ve been discussing. Coppin state is the type of team you can just out talent. They are one of the worst teams in D1.Is it just me, or does the list of teams Coppin State has lost to so far make anyone else nervous about this game?
i was at the Georgetown game last season where Coppin took Georgetown to overtime, after playing another game the day before. Is it just me, or does the list of teams Coppin State has lost to so far make anyone else nervous about this game?
If we lose to Coppin or Ferrum? This board might crash like in the CAA zone days.i was at the Georgetown game last season where Coppin took Georgetown to overtime, after playing another game the day before.
My fear is that Coppin is motivated because Mason has lost 2 in a row. Mason can't let them hang around.
Thanks for the positivity! To quote then 2011 Alabama coach Anthony Grant after the played vcu at the beginning of the 11-12 season "This is best 2-2 team in the nation". That vcu team went on to 29-7 record and barely lost indiana in the second round.
This Mason team is shaping up to be like that one
A completely overhauled Mason team went toe to toe with Marquette on the road for 34 minutes then ran out of gas. It lost to Central Michigan team on a freak play..a team that also only lost Marquette by 8. Then lost on a freak play to ECU, a preseason selection to win the AAC.
Mason is still gelling, this team will learn how to close out games and make run in the A10 for the top spot.

Next two "exhibition" games to tinker and finalize rotations (and more importantly incorporate all of the ides on this Board), then unleash Patriot Pressure 2.0 on our hated rivals to the southwest, on our way to rolling in to Duke at 7-3.I don't know that we're going to learn anything in our next two games. Both should be easy wins. If we struggle or lose one of the two then we can declare gloom. At Madison on the 29th and home against Tulane on Dec. 7th will matter and tell us more. I'll reserve further judgement until then.
LMAO. Well done!!!!!(and more importantly incorporate all of the ides on this Board)
Agree with you- but I think we all agree we would just like to see some solid basketball.I don't know that we're going to learn anything in our next two games. Both should be easy wins.
