Pipkins on the bench with 4 fouls, but UMass makes a run and is now up by 7! 9 minutes left. Still rooting for triple overtime.

hopefully they don’t shoot that well tomorrow from 3. And we don’t lay an egg like La Salle did

I'll be at a customer site on Thursday that is just a few minutes walk from the arena. If I can get out of some afternoon meetings, I was thinking about walking over and watching the Mason game.

All of this talk of a shortage of tickets, though, has me wondering whether it would be worth trying to get tickets at the door...

Note for those who might read my post too literally, only one of the above paragraphs is true, the other is sarcasm.

Foul that Unique Mclean guy if you need to tomorrow night Mason, if I heard the announcers right he is shooting 22% from the line during conference play. That's a little low.

To me, the key to the game is Kier and Grayer. If we get both of their best efforts, I think we win this game. If both of them struggle, I think we lose. We cannot shoot, for instance, 1-16 from 3 and expect to beat this team. UMass can try to shut Otis down all day long, but if Kier is getting to the bucket and Grayer is bombing shots from the arc, it's going to be tough to stop Otis doing his thing.

I can't make heads or tails of the two games. With Holloway and Pipkins, UMass shoots 18% from 3 and 38% from the floor and we win by 8 in OT. Without Holloway and Pipkins, they shoot 37% from 3 and 41 percent from the floor and lose by 2 via crazy buzzer beater. We also outrebounded them by 10 in the first game, and they outrebounded us by 8 in the second game.

No clue what the third game is going to look like.

GIVING DAY 2023
Per rpiforcast, if we win the tournament:
UMass/St Joes/Rhody/Davidson = RPI 159, SOS 141
UMass/St Joes/Rhody/Bonas = RPI 149, SOS 134

I don't see us winding up in Dayton. That looks like a 14 seed to me.
