They out rebounded us 50 - 27 last time out. Nope, that is not a typo. Clearly we will need to do a much better job on the glass. GMU continues the roller coaster ride that this year has been. We outplay vcu in the first half and lead by 74 points. vcu storms back in the 2nd half and outscores us 76 - 2, tying the game with .2 seconds to go. Ian Boyd scores from 85 feet away to steal yet another miracle win. Every Walmart and McDonalds in the greater Richmond area closes in mourning.

They're really not a good team. It's all in the players heads just like GW was. If we play our game we'll win easily. I'm assuming the same things will happen as the past four game though. We'll get a big lead at halftime, then they'll tighten it up and it's anyone's game.

Ugh. Even if you like George Mason, why would you go to this game? Richmond is like the worst parts of Detroit except also with hipsters. I would rather roll on a beach blanket infested with smallpox than ever visit downtown Richmond again.

Their fans are all small and puny or big and fat and I can beat up all of them, individually or all at once.

Its nuts that both Mason and vcu are 8-8 but thats just how the A10 crumbles this year. Considering where both programs are, its a testament to the job Paulsen has done with a team of freshmen and sophomores. There is URI St Bonaventure and pretty much everyone else.

Going to be tough to maintain Tillman on the glass and scoring, and playing in Richmond Mason never wins (other than at U of R somehow). Last time Khris Lane went off on Mason, so obviously hes going to have to be a point of emphasis too. Theres of course their press which gives most teams fits, so Mason will have to be sure of themselves when breaking it.

I'm not optimistic for this one but we'll see.

Seven years ago, vcu was in the midst of a terrible stretch that we punctuated by drilling them by 20 at the Siegel Center and chanting “Our House! Our House!” at the 500 or so furious fans that stuck around for the final minute.

Then, of course, they went on to the Final Four and our coach quit, prompting the implosion of a program that was on the verge of becoming a consistent NCAA participant.

Now we’ve come full circle. vcu has lost 5 of 7 and we have a chance to extend their misery by beating their asses in Richmond.

If we do, I could live without all the terrible sh!t that happened after our last win there. Just saying.

You really do have to wonder what happens if vcu doesn't catch fire from downtown in that conference semi. Mason goes on to win the CAA and gets a much better seed. Probably translates into a Sweet Sixteen birth at least. The administration might have been more willing to pay L, and vcu never goes to the Final Four. Wild what one game can do.
