Game 3: AT Georgia Southern University, Tuesday, November 13th, 7 PM, ESPN+

Greene and keir together is al mlm ost like playing a man down in offense. Man I miss Kamari Newman.

Completely forgot about those 4 other guys that transferred - Newman just dropped 16 pts for Oakland as what looks like one of the first guys off the bench. Temara is at juco, I think. Dixon is STARTING for UMKC, shooting .412, and averaging 6.7pts/3.3rbs a game (they may be one of the worst teams in the country). Murrell is starting at a DII college, looks like he did well last year but is having a dreadful start to this year.

Out of all of them, looks like only one was A10 caliber:

I wish Paulsen wouldn't have completely pushed him away by thinking Greene was the shooter we needed to be successful. Newman would have had a niche that currently nobody fits into. Greene can make 10 in a row in practice all he wants, the facts and stats in games that count back up he cannot shoot from the outside. JDS needs to be taking some of his/Kier's mins instead of them playing together the entire game when we need a shooter.

Otis is obviously one of our better — if not our best — 3-point shooters, so it's mind-boggling that he has no attempts yet this season. We absolutely need to find a way to get him more looks.

The Herculean task for Otis after shouldering the load for the last three years is realizing he doesn't have to do it all this season. Despite 1o assists vs American, I'm sure that he and Dave would be the first to admit his over-dribbling and uncharacteristic turnovers were an issue.

I believe we might be more effective if he plays off the ball more often when Kier and Hartwell are in the game. In addition to helping our stagnant offense flow better, it would hopefully get him more open looks from behind the arc.

I’ve been saying this for awhile, but I think Kier should absolutely run the offense more. He’s not a threat unless he is cutting to the basket. Otis can be a threat off a catch and shoot.

I agree about Kier. I think he could be a really effective pick and roll ballhandler, but I have not seen that action used yet.

I am thinking we turn this season around now. We get the win in . . .Googling to see where GSU is . . . Statesboro.

I see this going one of two ways, 1) Greene is pumped to be back in Georgia and goes off for 20, or 2) Greene presses too much trying to score 20 and ends up going 0-6 from three.

Desperately searching for positives.......

According to kenpom, Mason is 6th in the country in FG Defense--opponents only shooting 44% against us from the line. Ga. Southern was 17-32 from the line in their blowout of Carver. They did shoot over 70% from the field however.

Having "I love the 90s" is an obvious attempt by the AD to have those who graduated in the last 20 years come out to the basketball game. Its a nice idea and if you recall theme nights were something I suggested in the "Gameday experience thread" a few years ago...so you're welcome :cigar:
