It's simple. Play some defense and you win these last 3 games. End of f**king story.

"We shared the ball well and hit some shots in the first half, but Georgia Southern increased their pressure and did a good job getting to the rim in the second half," head coach Dave Paulsen said. "It was a difficult environment and our guys played hard. The turnover problem is hard to explain, but we will continue to analyze that element in practice and work to improve heading into Saturday."

Wow, now that sounds like a plan to fix things. Pretty clueless.

We should be 3-0 if we just played smart, simple basketball.

Come on man...this is the kind of comment(s) VVRams! eloquently pointed out that make G Mas fan look less than savvy.

I had the sweet task of assembling furniture last night. I was happy since we were up 20 and I figured the game was pretty much in the bag. Mid-build, I get an alert on my phone from ESPN saying we lost and the game was in the 90+ score range. w...t...f...

The first thing I thought of was Coach Larranaga's mantra about always wanting to keep opponents under 80 points -- cause otherwise it means we're not defending. It's pretty simple, we didn't defend anything in the second half. I digress. That said, at least I built my new bedroom nightstands.

Something positive from last night: The Caps finally got Tom Wilson back last night. Tom scored a goal and got a penalty on the same play, got into a fight, helped on penalty kills and, generally, inspired the Caps to one of their best looking games of the season. The Caps have looked pretty lackluster prior to tonight, so it gives me hope for the rest of the season.

Oh, I guess you meant positives from the the Mason game. Hmmm:
-We scored 54 points in a single half. So, we showed that our offense can score
-We held them to 34 in the same half. Not sure I if that was our defense or their ineptitude, though
-Finally some production from 3 point range. We shot 14/23 from three.

Positives? How about Stanley firing and making a 3 ice cold off the bench in last min? Stanley, the power 3pt driller!

Another positive. We got our first blow out vs a way more athletic team in GAS compared to first 2 games. Then gave it back in 2nd half.

The points in the paint is the end of the story here. It has been the biggest issue the first 3 games. We need to play zone or do something different to force teams out of the paint. The layup line last night was comical.

I would start Hartwell, Boyd, Grayer, AJ and Reuter on Saturday. Drastic, drastic, changes need to be made. Kier and Otis need to carry balls around campus program style. Need to start and end practice with wiffle ball games. And much much more.

The start to this season, and particularly the second half last night, has been the most befuddling thing I've ever witnesses in sports (way more so than Miami's current 4 game losing streak - cause I know why that is happening).

Anyone else notice that somehow Boyd did not take a shot (I believe) in the 2nd half after going 5/5, 2/2 with 12 points in 1st half?!

One thing that should be beyond obvious, at least at this point, is that Boyd, AJ and Grayer are our current 3 best players and all should be playing every possible minute.

This is what I can't get past. I like to think I know something about basketball and for 6 years have had tempered expectations for how good our team would be. But this year I really was a believer that we wouldn't just win games, we'd establish a culture and dominate lesser competition. Our coach has done it at two previous stops and these same players had shown the grit to win even while shorthanded.

The A-10 is a guards league and we had an elite point guard, athletic wings, shooters at literally all 5 positions, the most front court depth we've had in years and maybe most importantly experience. Something is not adding up. Befuddling is definitely the right word.
