I couldn't watch the game tonight so I read this thread to get a flavor for the game. I've never seen manic depression manifested so clearly than what I've read tonight. I don't think this team deserves Wayne Newton Appreciation Night
Damn, that is a telling stat - talk about defensive ineptitude.
You guys are so negative.
Don’t you know that Saturday they are giving away fanny packs? I mean, if I had my choice between a few meaningless wins and a George Mason fanny pack, I sure as hell know what I’m choosing.
I was at that American game in 95, the Drexel “cheesesteak massacre” somewhere in the early 2000’s and of course the 32-4 vcu tourney game At least those games had opponents who got real hot from deep. Tonight we gave up 64 in a half and the opponent hit just one 3-pointer. That’s almost hard to do.
The fact that our two primary ball handlers, a 4 year starter and a 3 year starter, are having so much trouble making good decisions -- and then those bad decisions leads to haphazard and lazy defense -- is the worst thing about the first part of this season.
Kier has a great game scoring with 20 points on 7-8 shooting, but no college team can win a game when their starting frontcourt turns the ball over a combined 12 times (6 times each). Not only are those lost offensive possessions but they more often than not lead to easy buckets the other way.
Kier's scoring is misleading. He got a lot of those points at the end of the game when Georgia was defending the three point line and left the lane open. Otis, Kier and Greene are too selfish. When they get the ball its all about what they can do for themselves. They don't know how to make their teammates better.Kier has a great game scoring with 20 points on 7-8 shooting, but no college team can win a game when their starting frontcourt turns the ball over a combined 12 times (6 times each).
