Vegas doesn’t watch conferences. They watch money.
If the lines in the A10 weren’t as accurate as the ACC or SEC the gamblers would have figured it out by now.
Makes sense. I guess my question would be, as someone who has never bet on sports (other than pools amongst friends)... When Vegas sets a line on a non-big-money game, one out of 150 D1 games being played today, are they aware of potential injuries?
Not that any of this matters. I'm just tired of not being able to travel to any Mason games, and bored of living in an area where nobody knows what Mason is... Just looking for stuff to talk about.
I think some fans have been pretty extreme (we're going to win the A10 after every win, and finish 8th after every loss). But I think the truth lies more in us being incredibly banged up... And these are just the ones we know about. I'm pretty sure we have minor but nagging injuries that are not being discussed (I'm looking at Kier). Early season, we had a plan that didn't work because of a hurt starter and a transfer who wasn't adjusting to a starting role as quickly as we'd hoped. We figured it out and saw what we really could be this season. Then we got all kinds of beat up.
Is anyone else like me and just not wanting to talk about this... Why do we have so many injuries in practice? Is this normal, and just a question of odds - you play a lot more minutes in practices than you do in games through the course of the season? Thus you are statistically more likely to get hurt in practice?
I don't pay close enough attention to other college teams to know of our recent history of practice injuries is normal. I feel like DP talks a lot about how well we practice and intense our practices are. Is this related or am I grasping?
