Good time-out after GoMar 3 at the 8:11 mark. Get the under 8:00 time-out and give your 7-man rotation some good rest for the final push.

I'm more concerned with our inability to play defense after a made basket. Teams just inbound it and go get a layup in under 5 seconds.

Never coming to a game here ever again. Parking is all side street (if you don't have a season ticket permit). Then you have to walk on the road into incoming traffic. Who the fock decided that was a good idea? Fock Richmond, you suck!

Really nice win on the road without Grayer. Here are some quick observations:

--We had four players with 9 rebounds, and three of them were guards (Mar, Calixte, Kier and Greene)!
--We needed somebody to step up with Jaire out, and Greene was that guy with 14 and 9 (plus 3 assists and a handful of steals). This is the first game where I really thought he looked comfortable and played proactively. Loved his defensive intensity and the way he attacked the basket.
--I was worried that Otis might try to do too much with Grayer out, but this was possibly one of his most controlled and complete game with 22 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds.
--Our inbounding coaching and execution need a lot of help.
--I rarely blame refs after a loss, but I will say after this win that the calls were horribly lopsided. The call on Otis with us up by 4 with under 10 seconds left was atrocious.
--It was nice to see Mar so involved in scoring and on the boards, but man does he need to work on his ball-handling and turnovers. I can recall several travels, and that doesn't even count the blatant one at the end that the refs missed (perhaps the one call that really went in our favor).

Here's hoping we can build on this. We proved that we don't need this to be the Otis and Jaire show for us to win. The more the freshmen and sophomores step up and contribute, the more complete team we are.

By the way, I really like Javon Greene's tenacity on the defensive side of the ball (6 steals today). If he could put the offensive side of his game together, I'd like to see him get the majority of the minutes off the bench going forward. We need someone who can come in and play some defense when we need it.

Who said Mooney was a better coach...?

It was a bit odd Richmond didn’t aggressively drive until midway through the 2nd half. With Mason playing 7 you would think getting Mason into foul trouble would be the game plan.

I love Grayer but the offense today seemed much more aggressive without him. Greene, Boyd, Kier, Otis really made every play happen from high activity through the dribble drive.

I hope grayer learns that he is a leader on this team and needs to be more aggressive and make things happen for his teammates as well.

1. When on a fast break, go the rim hard instead of trying to do circus finishes.

2. Drive into the post, don’t just rely on the threes

3. Get tough when in the post, attract defenders then find the open guy.

Grayer is big enough and athletic enough to ram it down the throats of the opposition in transition. I don't understand why he doesn't use his size better...he's a pretty big guard, but he plays like one who is 160 pounds sometimes.
