Tillman is going to score he’s too good, but off screens and when Tillman fights for position I constantly see Wilson or even Calixte pushing him out and bumping him to force him out. Plenty of times he gets the ball and he ends up out and has to pass out.

They have to continue and hold their own, and they’ll have a shot.

I was very depressed I had to sell my tix for this game. Maybe I'm glad I didn't make the long drive down. I have to admit I do find this boring. What I hated about the Hewitt Error of Mason Basketball was the predictability. You knew what you were going to see and it was going to be ugly. Now at least it's a much better product, and it's kids that are easy to root for, and the coach seems to actually care, but it's still just another day of getting down big, looking outmatched, battling back, blah, blah, blah

They have better players. Plan and simple. Until we recruit better, we are stuck in 9th and below in A10.

There is a reason why he doesn’t get many minutes. He’s athletic enough to play but so far his basketball iq is lacking. He has to learn how to play defense without having to rely on blocking a shot to save him every time because he isn’t going to block every shot in the A-10.

I understand that, but it's hard to believe a rebounding foul in the final minute was Tillman's FIRST foul of the game. I have a long and probably boring story about sitting with a former A10 player who analyze tape and even showed me some video on his phone and showed me how often vcu fouls and isn't called compared to their opponents. He had some examples of other teams that were before my time or off my radar who got similar treatment (no, not Duke). He theorized that in college basketball, over the last 20+ years, if you play(ed) a more active style of defense with constant hand checks, the refs will not call you for reach in fouls. I've stopped hating vcu for doing it and instead am wondering why everyone else doesn't.

EDIT: For the record, I am NOT claiming the officials are the reason we are getting beat up in this game.

I still prefer to believe that the silver lining is that we're going to be a MUCH improved team next year. And I agree, two of our local rivals (vcu, GW) are graduating players recruited by a former coach who have a** raped us for years. Next year is Paulsen's chance to shut people up, or feel that seat get scorching hot.
