Troy's a weird dude, man

I loaded up the sled dogs and made the 4 day journey to Amherst from Northern Maine...

1) Temara talks to somebody....yet no one is around him. Quite an animated conversationalist..even heated at some moments.

2) Otis Sr. Man gets emotional...let me tell you. UMass student section got a full dose. I even think he wore a spot out in the concrete walking back and forth beside the stands.

3) Derek Kellog...is might be the "white" Paul Hewitt. Just a bunch of tall guys running around throwing up shots. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

4) Williams College made the 60 mile journey for Paulsen. More Williams College gear than Mason gear in the stands.

5) UMass has fantastic video score boards.

Nice road win....made be butt pucker at the end. Fortunately my seat had the right angle to see that last 3 was off when it was leaving the guys hands.

When was the last time that following a middle of the road team in its conference was this fun?

I feel like the team is ahead of schedule, and even if we suffer a down year next year due to having no seniors, I am confident in the direction of the program.

I'm cautiously optimistic about next season, especially since Grayer has been playing much better of late. Moore is going to be a pretty huge loss, but Boyd and Kier playing so many minutes this season will pay dividends next year (and both of them have a dimension to their game Moore doesn't have: range). And we bring in some much needed length at the 4 (which is the position that has hurt us the most this year). IF Temara can get his post defense and rebounding under control, I like our potential top 8 a lot. I think the roster will finally start to look like it should with fairly defined positions and roles:

PG: Otis/Greene
SG: Kier**/Boyd/Newman/Murrell*
SF: Grayer/Boyd/Abram*
PF: Wilson/Mar/Abram
C: Temara/Relvao/Dixon*

*potential transfers (but nothing announced, so they should be included here)
**I have Kier starting over Boyd only because I think Paulsen likes having as many ballhandlers on the court as he can, and I trust Kier's ballhandling a little bit more than I do Boyd's.

Laughed out loud at this. Also heard a voice as low as a cool summer breeze whisper "Anali Okoloji." I think my new apartment is haunted.

Derek Kellogg always looks like he's about to open up his jacket and show you a bunch of stolen gold watches he wants to sell you at a great price.

I don't know, they certainly attacked our zone a lot better than I've ever seen a Hewitt team. I think the only coach I wouldn't take over Hewitt at this point would be Sherman Dillard.

"Otis Livingston II however carried Mason most of the way in this one and has bounced back nicely these last two games from a bit of a slump. He led Mason with 22 points and helpled the offense run smooth as they finished with 17 assists. As a team they only had five total assists against George Washington. Jalen Jenkins, not being in constant foul trouble, was a big difference for them as well. He played 31 minutes and scored 15 points, had 12 rebounds, and three assists. They are so much better when he stays in the game for longer periods. With Jenkins playing more minutes it was less of a roll of the dice between the backup forwards. Only Troy Temara played among them and showed improvement while giving some of his best minutes of the season. But in the end they need Jenkins to be that rock in the middle to be competitive up front."
