Duquense isn’t a bad team. Their coach has them headed in the right direction, 4-1 in conference play so far. Their next game is vcu at home.

Total team win tonight. Everyone stepping up and the more they step up, the more you see they can do what needs to be done. Hartwell, Calixte, Miller...even Reuter. Future looks good.

Felt like we were on tilt all night dealing with their bigs -- yet the team remained poised even after mistakes and kept frustrating them. Love it. NEXT.

That's a big win. The defense came up big in the last 5 minutes when they were down 3 getting some big stops when Dayton had the ball. How about Calixte and Reuter making free throws down the stretch. Contributions all around, a big 5 points from Hartwell, Boyd came in and hit a big 3. Miller hit a three from the corner showing he has range. JDS helped on the defensive end. Kier came up big in moments too.

They knew they'd get their points inside, but hands went up every time Dayton put up a 3, and they got enough rebounds when it mattered. It came down to stops and Mason buckled down and got enough.

Sky is the limit with this team playing this level of defense and having the guard play. THIS IS FUN. :cigar::cigar:

Onto the next one.

This was one of the more hard-fought Mason games I have seen. Both Dayton and Mason did a tremendous job battling back and forth exchanging blows and playing great defense. This was a nice victory for the program. Side Note: I think we would have had a greater difference in score if MAR or AJ were playing just for some additional height at the 4 positions. Let's give Dave Paulsen a lot of credit for finding different ways to mix up the defense!

Have only seen them live at RI...same thing there that I keep sensing on the Rohland broadcasts...POISE....they just don't seem to panic and keep playing.

F*cking LOVE IT.

Paulsen has been saying this a lot...said it tonight in the postgame. It's come to a point where you know this team will not fall apart, a mistake doesn't lead to another and another and another, a missed assignment doesn't lead to a 10-0 run.

I think all those close games last season (and close losses earlier in the season) are really helping the guys right now.

Agreed and I think its also maturity. You have juniors and seniors out there on the floor who have been through battles like this already. Even the sophomores have played a ton of minutes. Its great to see the poise and maturity.
