I watch a lot of UVa ball, and I commented on their board last year something to the effect of "Reuter is very skilled. He's the kind of guy that you would expect to see at a school like George Mason terrorizing power 5 programs when he's a senior".

He's got that old school post game, and really is sort of a mix of Will Thomas and Jai Lewis on offense (he's not as good as either on defense).

I fully expect him to be a 14/7 guy over his final two seasons.

Petey,

I am very grateful that you do this. Your analysis is sound and well-written and fills a void in the scant media coverage that our program receives. Given that Steve Goff of the Post indicates that he's likely to make fewer trips to Fairfax this season, your timely online columns are needed now more than ever and greatly treasured by at least this member of our fan base. Keep up the EXCELLENT work!!!

Seriously agree. Petey, you deserve a paid position somewhere doing this professionally (if you are not already). I look forward to reading them regularly.

Two year process? what bull. Are we building a proccess or are we building a program that doesn't rebuild, but rather reloads. F the proces. Get some bigs worth a damn. Revalo = Bust. Temara = Bust, Dixon = Biggest Bust. This is a glaring inbalance in recruiting and I refuse to believe that is part of any process.

You guys act like every mid, low major team has established 6'10" bigs. These players don't grow on trees and I think we saw yesterday you can beat anyone if you have good guards.

There are lots of teams out there without a certifiable big. You adjust to what you have and if we eventually get a quality big man, adjust again

The teams out there that have no "certifiable big" AND are successfull, have some experienced, big, and skillied guards to make up for no big man. We have maybe 2 guards like that, and one of them was shut down vs L'vlle.

Think it is fair to say that Mason basketball is headed in the new direction of positionless basketball (at least until Reuter can lace up). Not sure I remember seeing us go 4 and 5 out last year as much as we did yesterday.

Agree with those wishing we had more depth and size - but it is a growing trend in both the NCAA and the NBA. Pretty good article about Florida State going from traditional to positionless.

But if Reuter is as good as advertised, he could make up for all three.

To put everything on one transfer seems kinda irresponsible. He is going to be a huge help. But we still need another big to help spell him and develop for the future. Reload, not rebuild.

The major difference between last year and this year is last year we were still trying to figure out starters, roles, minutes... all things that come with time - especially when you had 11 guys getting minutes.

This year is pretty cut and dry. We don't have any options. We got our 8.

We definitely need to get some production out of our bench but after 2 games and 0 points I’m still not worried. I am hoping in some of these upcoming weaker opponents we are able to give some of our starters some extra rest and Wilson, Calixte, and Green some extra minutes. We play a good amount of games in a short period of time.
I still believe all 3 will have solid careers in the green and gold. Time will tell.

I said in another post we probably won't know what the learning curve is going to be from Greene, Wilson, or Calixte until after the Cancun Challenge and they've had a solid 6 games under their belts (against a mix of competition levels). Why don't we hold off on any proclamations of booms and busts for a few more games at least?

Why do you come here to watch such an awful program? Nothing is right.

Depth chart is shallow. Was it preventable?? Did we just plug in a body instead of actually believing in our "process"??
