Don't have much analysis to add that hasn't already been posted, just got back from Lua'ville last night:

*Their arena is pretty crazy, it's fricken huge and right in the middle of downtown. It's used for concerts, but it is their stadium. 23,000+ seats, and it gets loud quick. They have double layered suites on the club level - never seen that in an arena before. Tons of money coming in on game days.
*Both teams had pretty sloppy performances and expect both to have much higher ceilings than what was shown Saturday. Love the moxy of our guys going in there, against the most size mis-matched opponent I think I've ever seen us play and take it to them.
*Fans/locals were all super nice and friendly throughout our entire trip. Also, no where near a "yocal" as I suspected a town in Kentucky to be. Probably different story if you drive in 30 minutes in any direction.
*Churchill downs is a complete dump
*Bourbon is still gross (sorry Pikapp, I tried LOTS but can't get over the hump)
*Got a picture with Luke after the game, he referred to Louisville as "us", I told him that hurt my soul to hear that. Luckily he didn't remember my wife calling him a traitor last time we saw him a few years ago.
*Hotel caught on fire as Miami was beating the ever loving shit out of ND!!!! Luckily game was well in hand when we had to evacuate

MUST agree with you here, QD! Bourbon is a gift from the gods! If you haven't tried it, Woodford Reserve is unbelievable. Don't give up your search for good bourbon, Joe!

Ok, back to your regularly scheduled programming...

I mean, if you don't like the flavor profile of bourbon, you don't like the flavor profile of bourbon. I prefer Angel's Envy or Four Roses myself. Those are delicious. I also like Knob Creek, because you can drink it straight AND it goes nicely into mixed drinks (it being 100 proof isn't bad either).

We did a distillery tour/tasting of Angel's Envy and a tasting at Evan Williams capped off by a $100 shot (not what we paid) of 23 year old small batch something or other. All tastes like gasoline to me, even Woodford.

Sir - Bourbon is distilled from the tears of angels that have passed over the heaving bosom of wonder woman and filtered through the silk woven by the hands of amazons and aged in perfect american white oak barrels (virgin).

There is no way in God's creation that Bourbon can be gross. That is like saying up is down and good is evil.

My God its purely American.

Heresy!!!!

I think Atlanta's arena is set up similar with suites stacked on top of each other on one side of the court. I would have thought the new arena in Vegas would be like that as well given how suites would be used by the casinos, but not the case.

Tennessee’s Arena is also setup this way.
