Rumor is his grades were bad and he was gonna be ineligible for second semester.

Jim,

This seems to be implied in the press release - see http://www.gomason.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=25200&ATCLID=209813688:

“I respect Erik’s decision” said Hewitt. “I understand he needs to devote more time to other matters in his life that are more important than basketball. We will continue to support Erik in the pursuit of his degree.”

But, I'm disappointed in A.-Siegfried who I thought was dying to tell us.

Im not dying to tell you anything. I merely stated that Copes didn't quit the team. I don't believe I said "and you'll NEVER believe why!!! OMG!!"

Sorry to disappoint. As far as working at the Field House, you came up with that on your own. Reading comprehension is key to learning.

I guess that I assumed you were being truthful when you posted the following:

"Now, if you'll excuse me...I have exams to study for. But feel free to stop by the front desk at the field house if you want to discuss further."

Would you like to elaborate on your understanding of "reading comprehension"?

I guess you need to go back and read the first sentence of that same post. The one where I said you are as wrong about the AD having cash as you are about me working at the field house. Or should I elaborate further?

You made an assumption about where I gain my knowledge from. I decided to let you believe what you want to believe (although told you FIRST you were wrong about your assumption). Not my fault you weren't paying attention.

Now. Does that clear things up for you? Or should I go back and explain everything?

Actually, I wont. Our petty back and forth is boring for the rest of the group. You can direct message me if necessary. Otherwise I consider this matter closed. Good Day sir.

Am I the only one that realized A. Sigfried was being sarcastic in his response to the implied insult that he worked at the field house? Guess so.

Yet more evidence that Pablo is actually a robot (inability to catch sarcasm), as I believe I have claimed before... (sarcasm Pablo) ;)

Say what you want about A.-Siegfried, but he was right about Arledge and Copes not coming back. With the lack of information we get about our program the last few years, at least we have one person who is somehow connected to what is going on.

Evidently, I was correct that you are a student who knows little about financial matters as you continue to believe the AD is out of cash. And, to be precise, I suggested that you might work part-time for the AD.

Along those lines, A.-Seigfried, what are the odds on Hewitt being replaced before next season?

If he doesn't know that, I'd settle for an update on Mayimba and Lockett. Will they both be granted redshirts, and will the NCAA allow Mayimba to be eligible next season?

What is the line?

Very tough game to bet. Davidson might be prone for a small letdown on the road, and hell, our perimeter defense might be better with PH out.

But seriously leaning toward going hard on Davidson.

Rpiforecast: Davidson up to a 10.6 favorite after their Dayton win; it was 9.7 right after they were blown out at Richmond.

Probably another day or two before vegasinsider line come out.

Since Mayimba hasn't played in any games, he keeps his year of eligibility automatically -- assuming he is deemed eligible at all. One would hope that once the NCAA sees him complete an entire year of college successfully (which I have heard he is well on his way to doing, if you count his summer classes), they would drop the matter and let him play next year, but then again this is the NCAA we're talking about so who knows.

For Lockett, we won't know until after the season when the paperwork is processed, but he meets all the criteria, so a redshirt should be a slam dunk.

Thanks, Fanatic. My main hope is that by granting them both redshirts, it will make them less inclined to transfer and sit another year out if Hewitt is indeed fired. We obviously have no idea if either will end up being great, but I'm willing to take that chance based on their HS careers and reported upside.

Pat, I would guess, is out for this weekend and perhaps longer. He tweeted back and forth with Jackson and it appeared he wasn't going to play this weekend.

Mario has to pass concussion protocol including going through practices and being "symptom free". He might be fine today and have another issue on Friday. Not even a team doctor could say 100 percent he would play Saturday so not sure how I could.

Lockett is actually getting better by the day but wil redshirt and should have no issues. Pretty clear cut case. Marimba, as stated perfectly above, just has to pass all his classes and the NCAA a should give him all 4 years.

I'd never put odds on someone losing their job. That's bad mojo.

And the Athletic Department is still in need of more cash. Especially now that the A-10 voted to go along with full cost for both men and women's basketball. The price to play just went up.

I will say this. Brad is doing his homework. Those that think he doesn't care about basketball are wrong.

Damn it - I need to edit my original post. I was looking at the St. Louis game and not this one.

"Washingtonian has been a solid poster on GMUHoops" said Hewitt. "However, having him question the usefulness of game threads and recently posting incorrect viewing information is not only concerning, but a clear weakness."
