Dayton lost by 20 to GW today. St. Louis has no defense.

I’ll give you the Bonnie’s on the road. That is going to be a tough matchup.

Look, this game was a nice to have, not a must win. URI is going to be a top half team probably. Sucks only because of the way we lost it (even just not giving up a stupid 3 to end the first half and we probably pull this one out).
Team has no pg, can’t control pace of game and on the road kills you. When O’Connor is bad he’s absolutely horrendous. He has some solid plays but he has some of the worst turnovers ever seen.

Dayton was on the road at gw. Not at home. Don’t have nearly enough scoring to beat them.

I think good chance mason Rhode Island plays 3 games this year. KD may go out Tony skinn style if they lose!

I don’t think Rhode Island is that great. They are fine but they won’t be top 4. St. Louis Dayton vcu Bonnie’s will be top 4. Davidson Duquense and Richmond probably only 3 road wins. 12-6 is possible but no choke job against junk yard Loyola or gw at home this year.

Dayton, Bonny, St. Louis, vcu will be top 4 this year. St. Joes, URI, GW, Loyola and us will be in the mix for 5-9.

"The Patriots held URI to just 33 percent (7-22) from the floor and 21 points under its scoring average (83.3, 1st in A-10) for the game. It marked the first time Rhode Island shot below 35 percent for a game since the Patriots held the Rams to 29.4 percent on March 6 last season in Kingston.

But the Rams were +11 (15-4) from the free throw line in the second half and held a 15-9 edge in second chance points. GM went 9-of-18 from the line (.500) and 2-of-17 (.118) from 3pt range in the loss."

Moving forward Tony needs to recruit guys who can create their own shot, make an open 3, and make free throws. You can teach defense, making a shot? Not so much.

Those stats tell the story. The problem is, we have guys who usually shoot from the field far better than this. Three or four 3-pointers more and this game is a cakewalk.

Haynes had two fingers taped on his shooting hand. He was getting better at freethrows lately, but today consolidated a downward trend.

Damn, opportunity lost today.

I’m not sold on SLU yet. As good as their offense looks when it’s clicking, their defense is atrocious and Avila couldn’t stop Jollay in the post. I still think the 4th spot is open.

Agree. From what I"ve seen of them, St. Louis is not impressive to me at all. Home-in on Jimerson to limit his damage Avila has very high basketball IQ, but athleticism wins the day. Most of the A-10 will handle him.

Ok fair enough but 6-10 feels like where Mason will finish. Insanely Brutal road schedule and very easy home schedule but don’t see knocking off any of those 4 on road. Amazing they didn’t get a single one at home.

At this point knock off the stupid hipsters in Richmond and call it a successful year. I don’t see a double bye and they can’t score enough to win A10 tournament.

Maybe if Odom bolts for uva, grant leaves for Miami it will leave A10 wide open. Archie likely gets another chance in power 4/5 too.

Outside Duke and maybe lousiville every other coach in the ACC needs replaced they all are horrendous. Going to be a lot of movement in next couple years across basketball.

Goals for next year: find a pg to go with O’Connor Haynes Gio Ball and Recruit out of Maryland and could have a big year. No PG and same issues continue.

Agreed, out of those 4 teams St. Louis is the most suspect team. On paper they have a top 4 team.

However, they do look like poo some games. Jimerson has been inconsistent scoring this year and Avila is a bitch on defense but he's usually good for 15+ each game. Swope has been pretty consistent scoring each game. If all those 3 guys are on then they are really tough to beat - but it's rare all 3 are all shooting at a high clip.

They are very beatable but we have to play our best games from our starting 5

At home? Sure. On road I’m not sure they can beat anyone much better than a crappy JMU level team. Defense and crowd tend to help at home. On the road, stupid turnovers and failure to hit foul shots lead to loses, the 2 things Mason are beyond horrible at. I don’t see a pg who can handle the ball the whole entire game emerging. I guess if Maddox drops 30 and goes nuts.

Mason has a very non favorable schedule.

At St. Louis is going to be tough - this would need our best games from all 5 guys.

Neutral court we can beat them.

Who’s the 5th? Right now I see 3 scores. Gio was actually better today in the first half but he’s not a scorer. Maddox Haynes O’connor. Billups plays great d but someone else going to have to take Anderson spot, he’s averaging 3 points the last 5 games. That’s really really horrible. Having Ball would have been nice as another shooter. Woody if he’s agressive can give you 10.

Margin of error every night in A10 on road for this team is going to be very slim. They will never hit foul shots so they are going to have to find a 3 point option or maybe you just run Begg and try and hide him on defense? Who knows, I think they have a lot of kids who play hard and Jared is clearly their leader but he’s extremely limited on offense. best defensive team and one of worst offensive teams in A10.

Shit can Billups dribble? At this point may trust him more at point than anyone else. I’ve never seen so many guards travel or dribble the ball off their legs in critical moments.
