Game 14: Virginia Commonwealth University, Friday, December 30th, 8 PM, CBSSN

Here is my question - I watched our last game against them (Feb 2016) and we beat them even when we had a lousy rebuilding year.

We are much better than last year - shouldn't our chances be better this year ?

If I remember right they were pretty focused on Shevon and that left Jalen free to have a big game. They tried to play the game in the paint and it didn't work for them. With the way we play defense it'll probably come down to how well they shoot. I don't think our chances are any better but I don't think they're any worse. Key to the game is to get them in some early foul trouble. I'm sure they'll focus on Marquis and I doubt he'll be allowed to drive straight in and grab 14 rebounds.

They also have to realize they won't have the leeway to ply their usual full contact basketball and will get a good number of fouls as we drive o to the paint .

My lowest point as a Mason basketball fan. Lower than any of the Nestor or Westhead years, because we didn't expect to be any good anyways. 32-4 is inexcusable. The fact we came back in the second half only illuminates the point that we didn't match vcu's intensity from the beginning.
