I saw the score at the half and was pleased that we were doing well and went out for dinner... I come back and see us taking Penn State to the woodshed... wow
My god we are so well-coached. Kept getting into the paint over and over and over again and there was nothing they could do about it. Paulsen didn't take the cheese after the first half and let PSU keep shooting threes if it meant keeping them out of the paint - they were 7/14 in the first half and 3/14 in the second half. Penn State was 12/33 from inside the arc - we knew they were a bad shooting team, but that's really a fantastic defensive effort.
OTHER STUFF
- Marquise and Jalen can tussle with anyone in the A-10. We'll go as far as the rest of the supporting cast takes us. Strong efforts again from Karmari, Ian, and Kier tonight.
- Relvao acquitted himself decently in extended minutes for the first time this year. Played some solid defense but his feet are still a little slow. He also ran a gorgeous pick'n'roll with Otis but missed a wide-open bunny at the rim.
- This is the first time in the Paulsen era that not only did we handle the pressure with ease, but we made the opponent pay with some easy buckets. That's a big development that bodes well for the rest of the season.
- Kier has a maddeningly slow delivery on his three. He had a three blocked today which should never happen to a guy his size.
- Jaire is still kind of a question mark. His shot selection is questionable - he passed up a couple open threes to take contested twos. He scored 9 points on 9 shots which is a typical stat line for him and not really as efficient as you'd like him to be.
- Curious we didn't see Deandre with Temara out. I'm at the point where I have to wonder if the staff has him in the plans for the future.
This team has found an identity. We defend hard, rebound like Barkley and relentlessly attack the paint. We'll still have some stinkers but this team is going to be fun.

Dixon got in the last minute of the first half after Relvao picked up his second foul (Jalen already had two). I've seen other people say Kam got in the game but I watched pretty closely the entire time and didn't see him in there.
Oh didn't catch Dixon in the game but def saw Kam in there with his dreads.
