Agree but the future is now. We need to win this season. We only have a handful of opportunities to make a splash in the OOC schedule.

Yes, we are most likely overreacting and in 3 weeks, we will be making plans to build temples and sacrifice virgins to a temple we built in his honor. But I think this is why the Penn loss was particularly disappointing. In rebuild years, experimenting with lineups is more acceptable. This year, the only things that matter are W’s and L’s

Granted if we won this game, everyone would be touting Paulsen as a genius.

But he didn't. So questioning his decisions is perfecdty reasonable. Questioning his ability to run a program overal is overeaching and premature at this point.

But let me ask you and Jim this question: What would have to happen for you guys to question Paulsen's approach? If we do not make the NCAA tourney? If we go below .500? When is your tipping points?

Honestly, just want to know. You guys follow this program as closely as I do, perhaps way more.

Seriously, I’m not naive. Message boards exist primarily for fans to second-guess coaches on recruiting, substitutions, tactics and even their beverage of choice.

Fans certainly have the right to ask why Dave had certain players on the floor in the closing minutes the other night. It didn’t work out and we lost, so there are questions. That’s how it works for every coach in every sport.

But beyond the normal game-to-game ecstasy or agony, I’m not going to lose hope until Dave proves he can’t win A-10 titles and/or get us to the NCAA tournament with some type of reasonable consistency.

Given the success he’s had everywhere else, and his reputation as one of the finest teachers in all of college basketball, I just can’t see that happening.

They are extremely hard to find. I got to one page that has a scroll of the conferences. I had to go to Ivy League because A10 isn’t listed.

Search by conference and select IVY League. You can find it through those games listed.

When I searched George Mason, they had some random games that must have been for last year. Instead, I went to replays, selected sport, and date then scrolled to 7pm and found the Penn game.

JDS and Miller did not play. Miller was in street clothes. Doesn't he get a few games before he has to redshirt? Is he gonna redshirt or is he hurt?

Not only did we lose but Penn won after losing one of their starters to a knee injury early in the game and another starter missed most of the 2nd half after getting 4 fouls in the 1st half. Then he came back to kill us at the end of the game.
Some poor older gentleman evidently had a heart attack a few rows in front of me in section 102 during the 2nd half. He lost consciousness and the rescue team worked on him for about 15 minutes before taking him away. I obviously don't know the final outcome but I fear the worst. He was in extremely bad shape. Very sad situation.

Anyone know how the poor old chap turned out? Didn’t look good, and my wife is asking me if I know anything as we head in to the arena for game 2.

So if we beat American by 50, can we definitively say the Penn loss was an aberration or just a function of the level of competition?

I’m bummed that we gave up the lead and lost a winnable game, but it’s way too early to be drawing any conclusions about this team.

I don't understand why some ppl don't trust Paulsen yet. He took a dumpster fire and has made it better every season since he's been here. Where is the trust? Question his rotation all you want but the guy has proven himself.

It's not common for me to be annoyed enough by a game to agree with this comment, and I know you're only less-than-half-serious, but I was saying the same thing while watching the game. I'm sorry, but I am firmly in the "win or get fired" camp this year.

Indeed, it was a heart attack. He is currently in the hospital on a ventilator and under sedation, but his heart is working without support.
