Fair. But we don’t know how the season is going to play out with injuries, foul trouble, etc. Basketball is a game of matchups and a game that can be won or lost in an 8 minute stretch. Also, no one to really work Calixte physically in practice now either; although, he’ll have plenty of game experience with that.

On the bright side, another scholarship opens up for next year and we have plenty of minutes that may be up for a big man to grab. I think it may make sense to take another transfer or redshirt candidate though with Reuter becoming eligible to play.

yes Newman hurts as does possibly Abrams(I know all of you disagree). Temara wasn't very good and honestly a little nutso. Dixon may be the worst scholly player to ever have donned the green and gold.

This is a building year towards next year. While this may suck a bit in terms of depth, if it gets Calixte, Wilson, and Mar the kind of minutes Otis and Grayer logged as freshmen then I think it's a good thing. With Reuter coming in next year this was the only season Relvao was going to see significant minutes. This will help development and set us up nicely for next year.

Newman was by far the best of the bunch, but we have 4 other guys who can play his position.

I was thinking that too. I give Paulsen a little slack for the first 4 on the list. Also a little for his first recruiting class since it was rushed. But it might be very concerning if the high number of transfers continue.

There is a promotion for elementary school students to read a certain amount of books to earn free tickets. Several kids from our Loudoun ES are going to the game. Seems like a good promo.

I agree it's a lot more than what you want to see, but there are a varierty of reasons for the transfers, at least most of them are not Paulsen's fault:

Trey Porter - lazy/didn't want to work hard for Paulsen
Isaiah Jackson - recruited to BCS
Patrick Holloway - team cancer/lazy/bad attitude
Eric Lockett - lazy/didn't want to work hard for Paulsen
Danny Dixon - recruited over
Daniel Relvao - family issues back home
Kameron Murrell - recruited over
Deandre Abram - personality issues
Kamari Newman - personality issues
Troy Temara - personality issues

Of all of these, I think Abram, Newman and Temara are the only ones that are really subject to fair criticism (he recruited them), but when coupled with all of the others, it's very concerning and can not be something that can continue without out siginificantly effecting our competitiveness on the Court (any more than it already has).

Nope. Livingston II and Grayer ten times out of ten.

Adams and Mobley are great, but they both are seniors, and I think I’ll take two years of our guards versus one year of Adams and Mobley. Matthews also great and a senior. I don’t put Dowtin (5.5 ppg, 2 apg) in the same class as the rest of these guys currently. Maybe he took that step this offseason, but that is still projection until he shows it this season. St Joes and vcu should have pretty good backcourts too.

But these are OUR guys. The lifeblood of our program for the next two years. Great players on the court and role models off the court. What more could we ask for from those two?
