Did you realize we have finished in the top half of the league 4 of the last 5 years? I saw that stat tonight and was genuinely surprised ... I don’t think it’s a lock he gets extended if we lose to GW, but get to the semis on a 6-game win streak and that will probably do it.

Not sure where I got the idea that Mason would play winner of LaSalle-Fordham. Oh well. Must have misinterpreted how they were deciding when a team doesn't play 60% of the median number of the conference games that other teams do.

We spent an entire season looking ahead to that year (the two year season), talking ourselves into at-large and A10 champ possibilities... and then went 0-3 out of the gate and the season was over before it started. Given the expectations that was much worse than being a PIG team last year.

But I agree with @gmujim92 , the bar to extend has to be the semifinals, and considering Mason would have to find a way to win on Friday, which Paulsen has never done, that would be real magic.

that was a major letdown. There was hope of an ncaa run, and it never even came close.

It partly feels worse because two of those seasons were 9-9 seasons, and the. our OOC has been underwhelming every year.

Extending Paulsen for finishing 6th in what looks to be a 1 bid league (after 5 seasons of never sniffing an NIT berth) will tell me all I need to know about Edwards and Washington.
