I don’t hate it. Only thing I’m worried about (and might not be a legit worry, haven’t done a ton of research) is what are his ties to the area? We really need a guy who can hammer the DMV recruiting scene. Too much talent leaves our backyard.

I would guess any team in the 95 corridor tries to develop ties to the DMV. Only one player on their current roster from the area (Baltimore). He is a former Big East player. His brother had a long career in the NBA. Both of those things would bring some cache to any recruit.

New Mexico pulling the trigger on Paul Weir after four seasons. Had a 57-58 overall record, 27-39 record in the MWC, two 19 win seasons.

Fun with finances:

New Mexico basketball budget (2019) $4,206, 654
George Mason basketball budget (2019): $4,287,689

Median basketball budget MWC: $4,228,825
Median basketball budget A-10: $4,763,875

Is Turgeon really on the hot seat? I know a lot of their fans want him out for being 4-5 in the NCAA in 9 years. Imagine being a fan of a program that finished ranked 12th in the nation and Tied for 1st in the Big 10 in 19'-20' and wanting your coach gone 12 months later for being mediocre during a trivial year. Must be nice. With that being said I would not be opposed to Hiring Turgeon. The guy has won everywhere he's gone. 0% chance of that happening tough.
That's my point. He would be an absolute steal. UMD would have some balls letting him go though.

I can’t believe this thread almost went to the second page and hadn’t been posted to in 9 days.

I think now we all see the genius that Paulsen is. He said this was his best team yet before the season started, he just didn’t want to alert the other teams so he could sneak up on them. He just guaranteed we won’t be on the PIG and is ready to run the table in the tournament.

NCAA tournament, here we come! Renew Paulsen now.

Please change the name of this thread to “Paulsen is the Greatest”. We don’t want Brad to think we want him fired since he obviously hangs on every word we post.
I told you all that this was all part of Paulsen's master plan. He has them peaking at the right time and ready to win the A10 tournament. Renew him now before his stock price skyrockets!

There would never be a more conflicted human being than @sleeperpick watching Mason play in the A-10 final this year :D
Man id have to put my money where my mouth is if we made the tournament this year. Luckily for my bank account I have us getting bounced by Rhodey if we don’t catch a break tonight and end up in that 7-10 game.

We definitely want to avoid that 7 seed if possible. The 6 is particularly appealing if UMass is the 3 and Bones Hyland’s foot is still messed up with vcu as the 2.

A path of GW/Fordham, UMass and shorthanded vcu is about as good as it could get for Mason, which is why it won’t happen.

I like that a whole lot more than trying to take the same URI squad that dropped a 20 spot on us earlier this season. Whoever gets the 6 seed has the golden goose for a path to at least Friday. We’ll see what happens with Bones injury situation.

vcu's Bones Hyland (foot) is day-to-day and is hopeful to play this weekend in the Atlantic 10 Tournament, per Mike Rhoades. Averages 19.2 PPG. Has missed the past few games.
