They insulted St Mary’s college and called them st Mary’s college of the blind and deaf. Tony got word so they got disciplined.

Saw most of the 2nd half. Hard to make any judgments when you play St Mary’s.

Begg and Emejuru impressed. Foul trouble for O'Connor was an issue in the first half. Others had moments that were good and not so good, pretty much what I expected for a game that doesn't matter. Anderson was a concern with his lack of production, his body language at the end was bothersome. I had high hopes and won't pass judgement yet. Anyone can have an off night. Would love to know why Quigley and Johnson were not there. Rumors abounded but they're just that rumors. All I know is we need NO head cases this year. Maybe we'll get some clarification on Monday at the coaches show.

Johnson and Quigley sitting out for violating team rules.

Surprised to see Cokley enter the game before Ball

Begg looks good for a freshman.
Were they even on the bench? I didn't recognize whoever was on the bench but it's early enough in the season that I'm uncertain what they look like anyway.

Actually I was confused for a bit and from his style of play and "presence"/skill level on the court, I was thinking that #23 (Begg) was Johnson. Impressive kid.

We were so much bigger than St. Mary's, it was hard to tell how good we are. I thought Haynes wasn't finishing well deep in the paint, although to be fair, he did get fouled a lot.

I was most excited to see Anderson, and Haynes, but unfortunately they didn’t live up to my unfair expectations

But to your point, Haynes did draw a lot of fouls. I just wanted to see him finish through contact a bit more.

Second half got very ragged. St. Mary's didn't look terrible in the first half, which was essentially a 7-10 pt game and semi-competitive. We took it out to a ~15 pt lead just before halftime.

By the second half, St. Mary's were worn down and had a couple of guys foul out. Quickly became a 20-30 pt game.

Many times I liked what I saw. 3pt. shooting will definitely be better with this crew.

Gio and Begg were the most pleasant surprises. This combo will be important and dangerous for opponents. The pair misconnected more than not, but growth in chemistry will come. When it does, watch out.

O'Connell is fun to watch. Nice all-around game, high B-ball IQ.

In many ways, the depth seems interchangeable with little to no drop-off in play.

I liked the few moments that we played zone—they walled off the St. Mary"s quite well. We'll see how it goes against stronger competition.

I would have liked to have seen KD, but so did we all.

I didn't expect to see O'Connor running the point as part of the starting lineup. Also surprised Woody got the start over Anderson. I also noticed Anderson didn't seem to be playing 100%. At least he wasn't playing with the same level of intensity as the starters.

JB missed at least 3 open 3s that I saw. He forced a number of turnovers and played crazy defense, but still not hitting open looks.

We had a lineup with Haynes and Gio for about two minutes in the tail end of the game. Nothing remarkable other than the coaches were giving it a look.

Begg and O'Connor were the highlights for me. I think Begg put up like 12-14 points coming off the bench. He was also very confident directing the offense and getting the rest of the team in position. I can see him starting or coming in very early. Especially if KD isn't in good standing right now.

Cokley seems super green. His man blew past him a couple times and played limited minutes as a result imo.

Stas got a fair amount of minutes in the second half and was a little flat at first, missing a layup, but ended up working out some nerves and started getting better position

Hard to take away much against this level of competition other than we’re big. I don’t think we left that game today having seen what a lot of our main rotations will look like with no KD and no Quigley.

I continue to be impressed by Gio, I think he will be a real difference maker for this team and can see him pushing towards starting at some point this season.

I’m intrigued by the two big lineup, I don’t think it’s something you can run for very long in a game but against the right team will be something that will give some A10 teams absolute fits.
