Doesn't LaSalle want to move down to a lesser conference. What kind of coach are they willing to pay for.....

I asked a LaSalle fan at the A10 Tourney regarding the story behind LaSalle possibly dropping down a level or two. He said that LaSalle was only doing research in cost-saving measures and that there's nothing to worry about. I queried, "Isn't that where all these things start—with research?" He just shrugged. I guess we'll have to see it when or if it happens?

I am guessing he may really want to head coach. Paulsen worked his way up the ladder.

Dane F was a finalist for the the Williams HC job four years ago when Mike Maker left Williams to take the job at Marist.

Dane played D-3 bball and I agree that he wants to be a HC.

The Wash U (St. Louis) job is one of the top jobs in D-3. Great academic school in a league that has a multi-region membership (somewhat unique for D-3).

Wash U is also one of the top academic schools in the country outside of the Ivies and NESCAC and it has a great winning tradition in hoops.

It's a job that he could keep for 25+ years or move up to D-1 if he is successful (and he will be successful).

If he leaves, he will be missed by the staff.

Damnit! His daughter has the same birthdate as my son and we've made friends with his wife who sits near us - was hoping to set them up! j/k

I enjoy DIII hoops. Usually catch a couple games a year at that level. Didn't a team from Nebraska win it all this year?

The Van Gundys played at my alma mater, SUNY Brockport.

Yes. Nebraska Wesleyan won the D-3 title this year.

Assuming Dane gets the job — he’s more than due at this point — it should be interesting to see who DP hires as third assistant.

I’m sure he’s got a short list because we don’t want to be a man down during spring and summer recruiting for the 2019 class.

Beilein was never an assistant.

Not my point. John did 15 years of head coaching prior to his 1st DI gig at Canisius. Path worked fairly well. Washington U is arguably a better job than 1/3 of the 350+ DI’s. Also worked pretty well for Dick Bennett and Bo Ryan at Wisconsin.

Just think Dane would be a great mid major head coach.
