I would imagine money spent on basketball in Fairfax goes a lot further than NYC. I'm not sure what percentage of money spent would be directly related to cost of living.
Similar to how free agents in professional sports consider income tax, I'd image there are a lot of other variables that should be adjusted for when we consider money spent around the conference.
I'd love to see each school's money spent adjusted for their area and then compared. I believe Mason is in the 3rd most expensive city in the conference (Fordham, GW).
I still think our travel budget is lower compared to a lot of the rest of the conference: with two schools in Richmond, two in Philly, and one right next door we don’t have to travel too far to a lot of our games as well. It was something all the VA schools had an advantage in the old CAA but we also got Baltimore, Philly, and Delaware as easy trips on top of the 4 other VA schools.
