vcu was in the Top 25 in the early season and is now losing to bottom feeders. I generally root for the conference, but I do enjoy seeing vcu fail
vcu has had a more dissapointing season than Mason and it's not even close.

Dickie V on the call and they'll have Game Day there next weekend.
What we need-
Richmond to beat Dayton in Brooklyn. that should get them in (assuming no bad losses along the way)
URI is in
Dayton is in
a random team to win the conference tournament
4 bids
Just throwing this out there for sake of discussion.
Is the conference really “better” this year? There’s a real possibility that we only get one bid. URI is rending down and Richmond is hanging on by a thread trying to avoid a bad loss because they don’t have enough solid wins.
With Davidson and vcu down this year I’d argue it’s not much better (I know the number say different becaus of Dayton and better ooc performance). Bona and Duquesne are still sniffing at the 4 seed without any really impressive wins, which imo shouldn’t be happening if the conference really was as good as we thought it’d be.
If Mason was a halfway competent team like last year we’d be in the mix as well.
Yes, the conference is better. The only reason we got two teams in last year is because vcu (which was a much weaker team than Dayton this season) lost to URI and then St. Louis (which was a much weaker team than this season won the auto-bid). St. Bonaventure was also the 4th seed last year at 12-6. Mason was the 5 seed and were 153 in Kenpom.
This season, we have 7 teams in the top 100, last year we had 3.

This is only going to change about 10,000 over the next 14 days.Back to being a one bid conference? As of March 2, most bracket projections sites have only Dayton in. Both Richmond and URI are last four out.
