I could see Bryson Johnson going there if Fischer offers him third assistant. He’s probably not getting that at Mason as his first real job.

Simpkins and Kelly are in good spots regardless...both for head assistant at 2 D1 programs or Kelly HC at Catholic possible.

I would think Tony Skinn has best shot to come here as 2nd assistant. But that's a lateral move I think.

W&M’s top five scorers have eligibility remaining, but first-team All-CAA forward Nathan Knight is evaluating his NBA stock, while five other Tribe players have said they are exploring transfer options while waiting to meet W&M’s new coach.

Let's see how many of them he can keep there. Sounds like he may need a big man who is eligible immediately, a going away gift from Mason's roaster.

Bryson was the #3 assistant at Brown in 2017-18 before Brown screwed up the paperwork allowing him to work in the U.S. Hopefully that has now been resolved.

Here is what I see happening: Fisher hires Otis and Bryson to his staff, Brings in Jaire Grayer as a Grad Transfer. Convinces Nathan Knight to stay another year and withdraw from the NBA Draft. Convinces Pearce and the PG Audidge to not transfer. William & Mary has a 7 footer who shoots lights out that sat out from Wisconsin.

They dance next year if all of that occurs.

yes a team that has never been to the NCAA tournament who is one of the worst basketball programs (yet beat us) just hired one of our 2 crappy assistant coaches away.. Fischer sure is going to a blue blood. I hope Kelly leaves even faster

I am no genius but the gaggle of homers on this site make me feel like one every day... dude can't recruit (not linked to any of our good players.... except Kier) and can't coach (see how shitty we have been since he got here)... but you're right the next Boeheim is at William and Mary

Not taking sides here but it can't be too hard to recruit a kid who barely had any other offers. Unless you're talking about him assesing Otis's potential. That's a different story.

W&M pays a lot less. Much less than the cost of living adjustment. Fischer and Kelly made 160K this year. Simpkins 140K.

The most recent W&M salary info I could find was in 2014. Their 3 assistants made 75K, 58K and 56K. In 2015, our assistants made 153K, 153K, and 122K. Still much less than the cost of living.

Williamsburg does have a better quality of life IMO though.

I’m talking about being able to see something in a kid that others can’t. You have to have that if you are going to be a successful recruiter at most schools who aren’t routinely landing 4 and 5 stars.
