Why would Buzz Leave tech. He is in the best basketball conference. Tech doesn’t expect final 4 years every year. Sure he might get more money somewhere else. But he could ride this gig out to retirement. VT is happy they just made the tourney.

We were also a branch of UVA in 1959. We weren’t an independent university until 1972.

Our athletic department hasn’t nothing to do with Buzz Williams decision to leave Tech for A&M and is only self-flagellation to compare us to either school.

The search at William & Mary has been all over the place, but is getting closer to wrapping up. It sounds like they could be down to two finalists. I can confirm that Virginia assistant Jason Williford was involved, but has passed on the job. It now sounds like George Mason assistant Dane Fischer is the leader here, but is by no means done. I’ve also heard that there could be two current DIII head coaches lurking…

I'm not impressed with DF. If he gets job, I would welcome new blood to help with recruiting. Cough cough..Lamar butler, Tony skinn.

On a side note, IMO, DP will never bring anyone back from the Coach L tree bc he sees that as a weakness to do so.

Congrats to William and Mary....on a budget friendly hire.

Hire a coach with a ton of green and gold wardrobe already on hand and just switch some embroidery, patches, etc.

Just a hunch. Like the hunch he couldn't recruit strong enough when first hired. Other examples not for boards.

I don’t know if he’d be a fit at Mason, but I do know Rasheen Davis can recruit his a** off. He was at vcu with Wade, then just got pink-slipped by McCall at UMass.

If he’s still unemployed, I hope DP gives him a call.
