As an outsider this is something you don’t understand. I may think paulsen is a bad in game coach not fit for the A10 but I also know our staff is mostly horrible in the athletic department. Not sure if that hurts paulsen a ton since he has a long leash. But still the whole program is mostly a dumpster fire

Here is more details from Akron. Cutting 3 sports saved $4.4M. I didnt think that number would be so high. What if we cut 3 sports, remained Title IX compliant and put that $4.4M towards the basketball budget?
Now, Akron isn't cutting sports to reallocate the funds elsewhere. But in a few years when their budget increases, that increase in funding is going to football and basketball rather than bringing back sports. At least thats my guess.

Akron is in serious debt (university holds $485 million in debt), so I'd be surprised if they're going to reinvest in any other sports. 70% of their budget comes from student fees and their enrollment has been dropping since 2015 (god knows what it's going to look like in 2021).
They cut baseball in 2015 and brought it back in 2019.
If they saved $4.4 million, they aren't done cutting (that seems really dubious for those three sports). Their AD is trying to cut their budget by 20 percent. Their budget is around $35 million.
Wasn’t sure where to post this but the whole AD has really stepped up their social media game over the last few weeks it seems like. From the MBB twitter to Dave doing a bunch of interviews and BE filming videos, it’s been great. Credit where credit is due, it’s been a solid few weeks of content out of them. A good measure of success is looking at fan engagement with their posts, which seems to be way up over the last few weeks.
Hope to see even more interviews from the staff and hopefully some insight into what the players are doing to develop.

Mason upping student fees by $450 per current grad student...... probably not going to basketball program though right?
probably not all of it but I guess we can hope the athletic dept will get 50 bucks per student. Even that would be a plus.
wouldn’t hold my breath though.
Just read they’re increasing in-state and out-of-state tuition by $450 for 2020-21. There’s no change in student fees and no additional funds going to athletics.

What concerns? Rather vague accusation.
He also doesn't like the SEC, Big 12, or Clemson either, but for slightly more concrete reasons.
not good press and I DM'd him asking for more info on WTF he is talking about. I don't like Edwards for a multitude of reasons but I find this super offensive to promote on Twitter if false. To make such an accusation you should at least come with evidence

He also said Big10 schools and Georgetown are the only institutions that accept black athletes. He says this after every single person receives an offer or commits to a school not in the Big10 or Georgetown.
