Locker room upgrades, even if their construction has contributed to a home court disadvantage
Wait yeah now that I think about it why has he been scheduling home games where we clearly play worse? Get this guy out of here and get me someone who has us playing the minimum amount of home games possible.

We should use the SWAC or MEAC style of scheduling! No home games till conference play!

put the Adidas deal on his tab too
Yep, left that off.

So:
*Adidas deal (I am on the record as saying our current uniforms are my favorite ever)
*EBA naming deal
*Overall EBA upgrade
*Practice facility
*Paulsen/winning team in flagship sport

Growing the donor pool.

Is this true? I don't know that it's not, but I'd like to see some metrics regarding giving for Mason in the last half decade against

A. Mason in the PRIOR half decade
B. Our a10 rivals

I believe the literature published last year mentions it. I’ll take a look to see if I can find it.

It is a little spooky that you posted this last night and in response to my earlier post because I almost made a post last night after the announcement of Bird hire, but, I thought better of it. I thought it would come off as too negative and I have been trying to balance out my negativity from a couple years ago with some positivity this year. But, you have successfully baited me into posting it now.

I think there are 3 key tasks for a Mason AD: hire/retain a successful Men's basketball coach, keep up the facilities for men's basketball and fundraising for Men's basketball. The rest is just fluff and doesn't really matter if Men's basketball is doing well (sorry that is the hard truth for those that will scream "what about our golf team").

I stand by the key points of my earlier post that you quoted. I think Brad has done a pretty good job on the key fronts. He is getting some building improvements, maybe not as we might have once imagined, but just enough to keep us in the arms race. He hired Dave which is looking pretty good so far. The only one I have some questions about, is the fundraising aspect.

Is he producing there? We have 3-4 people on the staff now whose primary responsibility, in my mind, is fundraising. Brad, Darryl, this new Ms. Bird, and you could make the case that Max is in that bucket, too. Brad makes about $350k per year. If I make some assumptions, I am going to assume the total of those 4 is around $800k per year. Is the Patriot Club getting that much additional in donations to justify that overhead over and above what seat donations would get? I am not seeing huge publicity for some huge donations that have justified Green's hire yet. Are they happening behind the scenes and not showing up on the Patriot Club bottom line? Did he get the funding for the lights, practice facility and locker rooms? I don't have the answers to these questions, and don't have enough emotionally invested in Mason basketball any more to spend the time looking it up, but that would be the last piece of the grade sheet for Brad in my mind.

Note: this was not intended to be negative in any way, just putting out how my grading is done, and I don't have enough data for the last grade.

Brian - this is a fair and balanced post and I would say positive. Your last point is important - and spot on. We would need hard data to assess this in any clear light. I would think that some of his fundraising efforts would have been constrained by the University Campaign that just ended on December 31st. I am sure that sucked some of the free floating donation money.

We just raised $690 million and we cant finish the locker rooms of the main athletic program revenue generator?

Is any of that $690 million going towards athletics? How much of it was raised bc of athletics?

They talked to Edwards for 2 segments.

He did mention that he would like to play GTown and Maryland, didn't say if it is a home and home though.

He told a few stories from his Skins days and plugged our next home game.
