"SCOUTING THE HAWKS
Saint Joseph's is currently 10-2, 1-0 A-10 on the season, standing second in the Atlantic 10. Their only losses so far this season have been to Utah (71-72, OT) and Villanova (65-81).
Three players are currently averaging double figures in scoring for the Hawks. Junior Laura Ziegler averages a double-double of 17.5 points and 10.9 rebounds per game. She leads the team in points, rebounds, assists, and blocks. Senior Tayla Brugler is second on the team in scoring, averaging 17.0 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. She is first on the team in field goal percentage and is second in rebounds. Brugler was named A-10 Player of the Week twice at the beginning of this season.
Another notable player is senior Mackenzie Smith who averages 16.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. She leads the team in made three pointers and is second in made free throws.
The Hawks are fourth in the nation in free throw percentage (80.9), 11th in assists per game (19.1), and 13th in three-point percentage (38.5 %). Ziegler is top-ten nationally in triple-doubles, three-point percentage, rebounds per game, defensive rebounds per game, and double-doubles."
