Was a great game, women trailed the entire game with Suarez scoring teams first 14 points, then sitting a bunch with foul trouble.

Kennedy Harris could never really get going and others stepped up with some huge plays - Kaysia and Habib each had huge back to back blocks on defense followed by a bucket on offense.

Team cut it to two with about 2 mins left in 4th but SJU's size and defense made it very difficult for Mason to get over the hump with the final margin being the result of Mason having to foul on several consecutive possessions after not being able to tie or take the lead.

Atmosphere was one of the best I've ever experienced at EBA, those kids screaming was ear piercing. As soon as the get loud/make some noise graphic went up, decibels were over 100.

Great great great job to the staff/AD on creating that atmosphere and getting all those kids to the game - there were somewhere between 50-100 school buses there. All the kids are the ones participating in the SAC programs for FCPS.

Excellent summary. Game "sponsor" was Fairfax County Neighborhood and Community Services--I think it includes the SAC programs, among other things (https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/neighborhood-community-services/facilities-map). Kids were given green glow sticks to wave --did a blackout during a time-out so the glow sticks would be featured.

Many of the women's games have noon starts throughout the A10, which makes it convenient for these sorts of groups to attend. Seems to me that the Mystics do the same in their scheduling.

We shot poorly throughout most of the game and trailed by double digits much of the second and third quarter. We had a number of shots roll off, many contested in close. St Joe's looked VERY good in the first half but fortunately went cold in the 4th quarter, turned the ball over a few times and we warmed up. somewhat. But has been previously said, we just couldn't make a tying or go-ahead 3 when we had the chance.

GIVING DAY 2023
Great game but the first quarter slow start and deficit cost them at the end.
GMU women shot poorly from the field for the first 3 quarters.

Rebounding difference was negotiable but SJUs overall height allowed them better looks and that was an early advantage.

This may be the 2nd best team that the women have played this season after #8 Maryland.

I hope there were lessons learned and points for improvement and the team works in them.

assuming Mason is still in the hunt for the A-10 Championship - I hope the AD offers a bus to the game

GMU can't afford any more losses until the St. Joes rematch, and must hope the St. Joes doesn't lose until the rematch
Its really unfortunate that 1) A10 is so weak overall after top 3, 2) we only have 3 quality games in conference, and two are on road, and most importantly 3) we lost the one quality home game we had.

Rest of the season is going to be a nail biter to avoid a bad loss (ie any remaining opponent other than SJU and Richmond), and to see if we can still one of the two away games vs SJU/Richmond.

Otherwise, we finish 24-4, squarely on the bubble with our best/only top 100 win @ Gtown (Net of 55 currently).

Reminds me a lot of the Mens Soccer team - will be devastating if the women go 24-4 and miss the tournament.

Huge game Wednesday at Richmond!
