I know of one effort that is underway for Mason fans to do some sort of collective NIL deal to give people an opportunity to contribute in a crowdfunding manner. If it comes to fruition, I'll be sure to publicize it here.
Happy to hear. I’m ready to rock.

Deep dive into Mezie Offurum this morning.

First off, I wasn't fair with him earlier comparing him to a Joel Kabimba and I apologize for that. Mezie is much better than Joel.

His numbers don't exactly blow you away. They aren't bad. But they aren't the eye popping stats you might expect from a NEC player looking to transfer up. Same can be said regarding his time at GW. Looking at just that information, it's tough to get super excited about the possibility of him coming to Mason.

Having said that, there are some positives. He is someone that has that big frame that can hang in the A10. He is very versatile and can play out near the three point line. He would be someone you can pair up with Oduro, but could also spell Oduro. He's pretty athletic. Off the court he's soft-spoken and always smiling - seems like a real good kid.

I don't think he puts us over the top if he signs with us, but I do think he's a fringe starter who can take some pressure off of Oduro. His skill set allows Oduro still to get touches down low, but he can help rebound at his size and can shoot from the outside if needed. He can also play down low if Oduro is out and be successful there too. He will help us, but he's not going to carry us. He's an upgrade over anyone we had on the roster last year coming off the bench. Not sure if he's a starter or not, but I don't think it matters as his minutes will be about the same.

Just my guess.
It would certainly be nice to have a second true big to match up against teams that bullied us in the paint last season. If nothing else Offurum is a grown man physically who won’t need time to acclimate to the pace of college basketball … rebound and play defense and whatever offense we get from him is gravy.

Originally I thought he was just a post player and looking at his size, there is no reason to think otherwise. One interview I watched with him talked about how he has played the three for some games last season, so I had to go back and watch more. Now I see why the staff would be interested in him. Lots of post guys out there that can give us minutes, but he brings more to the table with his ability to run and defend the 3 spot if needed. He could clear the paint for Oduro and be totally capable out there unlike a Henry or another pure 4/5. With Offurum, I don't think we would need to try Jones playing against other posts anymore.

He'd be a good piece to the puzzle.

I'd def. be interested in contributing when the time comes. Will be interested to see how it is structured/how it operates.

he is not as tall nor does he weigh as much as they have been advertising. He is very much so a true 4

Based on the way heights and weights are typically inflated, I’d guess he’s 6-7 in shoes and probably 215-220 pounds. So yeah, pretty normal for a 4 in the A-10, hopefully he can knock down some open 3s because I expect Oduro to see lots of double-teams.

I wonder what happened? I don’t see a new PG commit that might have caused him to change his mind.
Two assistant coaches left, including the one that played with his father. There's an article here if interested:
