Andy Enfield was mentioned as a candidate at Maryland, but word out of USC all along has been he was more likely to sign a new deal. And now he has — through 2028.

OUR. COACH.

Andy Enfield has signed a contract extension through the 2027-28 season.
Weird @Patriot8 @gmujim92. Maryland is not the program it used to be. Seton Halls coach Willard will be the guy there unless something crazy happens

Should I feel any better about Butler O’Connored their hire after Stevenson left?

Does that mean Pitt isn't going to fire Jeff Capel? I would think Willard would take his alma mater if he thought it was going to come open. EDIT: I forgot Pitt fired his dad when he was coach. He likely isn't high on their list or they on his.

Maryland hasn’t been a better job than Gonzaga and Baylor specifically in a VERY long time

Wasn't meant to be Maryland specific, just coaches who've chosen to stay at their current schools when so-called "better" options would have been available if they'd wanted.

Add Rick Barnes who chose to stay at Tennessee over UCLA and Bruce Pearl who turned down Louisville for Auburn to that list too.

Maryland is a better job. Enfield has had a ton of success at USC for a long time, and doesn't want to leave what he's built. Both can be true.
plus better weather and he can afford a mini mansion on his salary

It’s almost as if our idiot insiders have no idea what they are talking about and Maryland is undesireble but YOLO

He most certainly was not. Rick talked about how close he was to taking the job when he was introducing KE as his new assistant. Basically if UCLA would’ve covered his buy out, he was heading west.

back to he said she said between Barnes who extorted his current school to be WAY overpaid vs UCLA who mucked up the entire coaching search multiple times and stories have changed multiple times. Maybe Maryland will take him

I mean, he only took over a program that was in shambles after Donnie Tyndall earned himself a show clause, who followed Cuonzo Martin being pushed out, who followed Bruce Pearl also getting a show cause, currently ranked #9 w/wins over three top five programs. Also has the fifth highest attendance in college basketball at a program traditionally weak in that sport.

But OK, go off, killer. It's actually somewhat of a nice change from you ripping on teenagers.

I have the privilege of holding a job that sometimes puts me in a position to know things. For example, I found out that KE was taking the George Mason job because I was sitting with Coach Barnes when KE called him. This sort of thing doesn't happen often, but sometimes I'm lucky.

You questioned the legitimacy of Barnes being the favorite for, and turning down, the UCLA job, instead saying that Cronin was "always" the top candidate. I can assure you that is not the case.

Now, back to things that actually matter.
