agree other than the weird swimom tweets to these 17 year old kids "can't wait for you join the family like my favorite kids @greg @otis LOVE THEM like SONS xoxoxoxoxoxox <3". that shit is just weird as hell and someone that knows her should tell her knock it off

Would it still be weird if she was a hot cougar?

12) Rapolas Ivanauskas, 6-10, 230, PF, Grad, Colgate
Stats: 13.1 ppg, 7.6 rpg
Scout’s take: “Can play the four or the five. Can pick and pop, pick and roll, capable 3-point shooter who is very aggressive in the post and can score over either shoulder and either block, but he’s best when his isolated on the right block. Will back you down and usually it’s not coming back out.”

dave better be calling this kid...when I see

6’10
Pick and pop
Three point shooter
Aggressive in the post

good grief.

Ivanauskas can play. He’s better than Gasperini at American who grad transferred to UMass.

My guess is that he may have options at a lower level P5 school.

Maryland wing Ricky Lindo just committed to GW, which has added 3 transfers from the Big 10 and SEC since the end of the season.

Jamion Christian getting things turned around quick so he can move on to his next job. It’s what he does.

I was thinking a dependable veteran big like Gasperini would be a perfect fit for Mason.

honestly that’s not a terrible problem to have. Improve, go and win, leave the program in good shape to the next job. I don’t want the all transfer approach but having a few to try and help bridge a rebuild is a nice thing.

I’m sure the kid will have options but I’m hoping that mason is after him and sells the fact that he’s a good fit for how Mason wants to play. Having a former patriot league coach could possibly help that I would hope.

Are we even linked to him anywhere other than these boards? Seems pointless to get all hopeful about a potential transfer that hasn't even been linked to us.

I wasn’t being critical. He’s a terrific coach but he’s a job hopper.

At the bare minimum I’d hope that our staff is at least making the call. Understand odds are we don’t land him, but as Jim pointed out, GW has had no issues landing transfers and id venture to say that our facilities and amenities are at least on par, if not better. If we don’t see any reports linking us to him then I’ll be worried about the direction the staff is going with this last scholarship.

He’ll have the in the tournament in the next 3 years or less, count it. There were a lot of bright spots on that otherwise bad team last season and he’s plugging all the right holes with transfers.

I was merely bored, came across the article, saw a big guy who can do all the things that Paulsens team did at Bucknell, thought maybe that could transpire at mason, and said “ooh he’d be cool, let’s talk about him”, haha.

Tend to agree, guys play hard for Christian, but you never know how all of the transfers will mesh with GW’s existing players. Chemistry is a thing and it’s not automatic.

Other A-10 schools (UMass, La Salle) have tried to load up on P5 transfers and failed spectacularly.

Don’t judge lasalle too soon because they have a really good 4 star transfer that sat out last year. I love Ashley Howard as a coach for a school with ten times the issues we have. St joes also just snagged bishop and he’s eligible next year as well. Will kill our point guards offensively.
We just take a different approach that hasn’t worked out yet.

I was more thinking about Dr G’s last few years at La Salle. He had Jordan Price and BJ Johnson and somehow managed to not win a damn thing.

Dayton did just fine with transfers. Slu too. It can be done, just not at Mason where things are whack in that regard.

It’s just a different philosophy. Hard to draw any conclusions from our one transfer in the past 5 years.

That’s the problem. Team isn’t good and we get one transfer in. Otherwise let’s just give the scholarships to under utilized freshman or keep them open. That’s horrible

Many coaches prefer to build through four-year players. That’s going to change once the sit-out rule goes away though — everyone will have to take transfers to survive the roster chaos.
