6'11, 10th ranked player in VA, has good form on FT's, can hit the 3, dribble/drive a little. I would definitely take - seems like a slightly less athletic/but more fundamentally and offensively advanced version of Porter.

2 years in a college weight lifting program and kid could be a monster.

And this is the reason why Paulson has to go. Just what we need a 6' 11" three point shooter. No amout of weight lifting is going to appreciably change who he is. Im sure he is a nice kid, but this team needs some power players who can rebound, contest and score.
We are sinking quick now, imagine next year without Otis.

I'll take him right now over Reuter...;)

Huh? You want someone to score but the ability to hit a 3 is a turnoff? Who said he didn't rebound or defend? He shot one 3 in the video that I noticed, also had tons of blocks.

Not that it matters...talented 6'11" players don't end up at Mason.

I love Handy as he was my conditioning coach during my time as an athlete at Mason but who is the last big man to put on significant muscle during their time at Mason? I honestly can't remember the last "monster" we had playing at Mason over the past 15 years... Some of the guards seem to have bulked up but we have never had a monster playing the 4 or 5 for us.

Jalen was pretty jacked by his senior season. I mean he was only 6’7 but he could tustle with the big boys.

Was Jalen the last big that we had for a full 4 (or 5) years, since Mike Mo (who definitely bulked up but did not have the body type to bulk up too much)?

Marquise Moore definitely bulked up into a monster. Otis has added a ton of muscle. Handy can't lift the weights for them and put the right foods in their mouth.

Their have definitely been guys that significantly bulked up during their careers.

Regardless, my comment was more in reference to just having the opportunity of being in a college weight program period, and a couple added years of maturing.

Yes, I think so. It’ll be interesting to see what Calixte looks like in 2 years. He has a pretty big frame on him.

I’m of the opinion Reuter should lose about 15-20 pounds.

Marquise and Otis both definitely added a lot of muscle and I agree that having the opportunity in a college weight program and maturing will help. We have had guards recently (and Jalen) who could tussle with the big boys but we have never had someone like a Mo Ali Cox who I would consider a "monster". Most of our solid bigs were able to win on hustle and fundamentals rather then on strength.

Yes. But if I were to have to choose between a Payton Aldridge and a Mo Ali-Cox, I’m going with the more fundamentally sound, albeit softer, Aldridge all day.

Mo was a monster even before he went to vcu. Guy has the biggest hands I’ve ever seen. He got chiseled in college.

If he was good other schools would have offered him.

Kier added some muscle too.
