Their other players are about the same size as our incoming players. Maybe they are a million times better, but who knows?

I know they kicked the crap out of us last year and probably will next year, but our players shouldn’t be as scared of vcu as we are, or it will definitely happen.

It would just be nice for a little bit of positivity for once. This fan base makes it sound like we are Fordham.

I am trying to be as positive as possible player wise.... but the invalid argument you are trying to make is just kind of ridiculous.

I would offer that 5 11" kid that picked vcu over all the Power 5's over any 2020 recruit we have signed right now (hint we don't have any)...

Can't argue against the list of teams they go out and beat recruits for when our list is generally CAA or lower or no other D1 offers in some cases....

It would be interesting to see how many of those vcu guys would get PT right away at those P5 schools vs coming to vcu and playing right away. vcu seems to target those type of 4 star guys whereas we just, well i dunno what we are doing.

You’re right I’ll be like Jim and Gemini and you and the other paint sniffers in here that think our recruits are on par with the 4 stars vcu gets.

Don’t look at any of the media polls coming out on Twitter where analysts and fans have us mostly 6-10. Actually do because a former board member looks absolutely pathetic arguing for us in the comments.

Media polls had vcu 7th last year. They had us something like 10th the year before that. How did those predictions work out?

Also, Jordan Miller competed just fine against vcu last year as a freshman, so you have no clue who will be good and who will not, that’s the whole point. You think Josh Oduro is a DIII player, but you really have no idea what will happen when he takes the court (nor do I or anyone else on these boards).

I also think it’s funny you think I’m sniffing glue when I have said the most logical preseason pick for Mason is 7th. But yeah, I think if all our questions are answered we can finish as high as 4th (which would probably make us an NIT bubble team), so call me a glue sniffing optimist.

PS: looking back at 2018 coaches poll, they had St. Joes second which is laughable now.

We got mauled by vcu last year on our supposed year to compete and their year to falter (hmmmm)...... Jordan Miller could have dropped 25 and we still would have gotten mauled... we are outclassed by most of the good schools in A10 even in their down years.... Bonnies lost two top 5 A10 players and beat us 2 out of 3 last year with a team that had most starters only playing half the season because of injuries...

Just answer me this one time.... Did you see a PVI game last year?!?! if you did not please stop bringing him up.... if you did and still want to cape then you are more blinded by green and gold than even I think....

Yes. I am flying in from Arizona to watch high school basketball games. I know you saw him against Qudus and immediately decided he won’t be able to lace his shoes in the morning.

Tyler Bynum thinks he will be a big contributor next year, complain to him that his assessment is way off.

We also had two major contributors hurt for much of the season (or stopped playing — Grayer and Boyd), a third who regressed from his junior year (Otis — maybe due to nagging injuries), a fourth who dropped off the map and also got hurt (Mar) and somehow we are just absolutely outclassed and just can not compete. It’s just hopeless.

and anyone that consistently thinks we are going to be good and has Javon Greene as the starting PG is not someone I choose to listen to about basketball... love Javon but thats just a horrible take

Nice deflection there. You know what I was talking about when it comes to next season's starting lineup.

I said we are going to be somewhere between 4th-7th. Not an unreasonable take.

Also, Jordan Miller had a double-double against vcu in both games last year. When we beat them two years ago in Richmond, Goanar Mar had 26 and 7, including 4-6 from three (have no idea what happened to that kid last season, but if he can get that mojo back, I'll take it).

Yeah, we have a lot of question marks, but we also have a lot of potential if the team can coalesce in the right way. I'm sorry you don't see it.
