One caveat, the teams who hit the transfer market hard also had a ton of transfers OUT. Davidson didn’t lose anyone. We lost JDS and that’s it (can’t count Kier).

Previous years, I’d say we made mistakes for not filling out the roster with transfers, but I don’t know if this is that year (especially if Otis Frazier, who we landed after JDS transferred, turns out to be a good one for us).

Davidson lost two undergrads... and who is talking about just this year?!? Blake Francis been on Richmond for a hot minute now, Antwan Walker on Rhody for one, Chase, Jordy, and Ibi on Dayton... this isn't a new problem but for the same people defending us not improving and not looking at the world for what it is... they really need to get a grip on what college basketball is today in the league we play at. Also does Kier, Mar and JDS not count? Yes nobody wanted Mar or JDS on the team anymore but they still left and we replaced them with true freshmen.

And if the true freshmen we replaced them with turn out to be very good players, will you still complain that those spots weren’t used on transfers?

I would take a kid averaging 15-20 at a division lower than us that can play immediately over any of the freshman paulsen recruits that need 3 years to develop. Absolutely

a lot of ifs on 90% of Paulsens recruits on whether they are A10 caliber. Can easily find A10 caliber transfers like I have shown above. Paulsen just can’t seem to.

If transfers can come into A10 and log minutes on teams better than George Masons i don’t see this qualm about it. Sorry paulsen utterly failed on a kid that had back problems. Gotta keep attracting the hotbed of DC recruits that don’t pan out at our nations top schools.

For every legit stud in the transfer portal there are 50 guys who either weren’t good enough at their former school, are total headcases or both. Good luck building a winning team with a bunch of those dudes on your roster.

Meanwhile, you miss out on a lot of very good players at our level if you aren’t willing to give them time to develop.

Just a different philosophy, I guess.

if Paulsen's worked like McKillop's seems to we wouldn't even be talking... but it's not so why not do what the rest of the good teams in your conference are seemingly having success at?

Lol why can’t we count Kier? He was supposed to be our best player this season according to many on these boards?

Lol that sentiment and numbers are off and you know it. sleeper broke down the number of current transfers who are currently starting on teams better than us in our own league, you saying they are in the extreme minority in the country? I highly doubt that.

I can do another comparable mid major league if he'd like but I am sure that doesn't count either.... he is spouting completely inaccurate facts (if you can even call it that), but what is truly new

I am really bored tonight so here is the American Conference list of transfers with PPG avgs for the guys since I don't really know who is a starter. Hope this helps thin out all these 50 outliers for every recruit that pans out.

Cincy: 3 on roster including former Mason prospect Mika Adams Woods our former recruit, David Dejulius avg 7 at Michigan last year so I doubt he forgets how to play basketball in American, Rapolas Ivanovkas... Woods and Ivanovkas are supposed to be starters per their beat writer on Twitter
ECU: our American Conference equivalent has 5 transfers/JUCOs and one 4 star freshman who had offers from 50% of blue bloods and went down to ECU the basketball powerhouse
Houston: 8 (they SUCK at basketball) *sarcasm. 2 all conf guys that are transfers to boot but that never ever happens right? including 2 from A10 school ZOOMASS who also employs this strange transfer technique that is a foreign term.
Memphis: 6 (another shitty basketball school)
SMU: 4 (3 starters)
USF: 4 (2 starters)
Temple: (former A10 powerhouse) 4 (2 starters and a couple retreads that are awesome at basketball)
Tulane: 5 (2 starters)
Tulsa: 6 (2 starters)
UCF: 8 (3 starters) and they might go snag our baby boy Darius for shits and gigs
Wichita St: SHOCKER that they have 6 (min 2 starters, some of their freshman might beat out a couple of the others)

Conference closest to the A10 in BPI.... but it can't be a worldwide trend in college basketball. no way no how

"But Sleeper the American Conference is slightly better than ours... that is NOT fair"

WCC

BYU: 7 (3 starters... they literally pick which Utah Valley guys they want each year and steal them plus Haarms from Purdue..dumb retread who will suck moving 5 conferences down)
Gonzaga: SHOULD NOT COUNT (4)
Loyola Marymount: 3 (2 starters)
Pacific: 9 (4 starters)
Pepperdine: 3 (1 starter)
Portland: 8
St Mary's: 1 (but they recruit almost exclusively Kiwi and Aussie kids) maybe Paulsen is trying that in Canada and it will pay off in 5 years
San Diego: the team of Whales Vagina 5 (2 starters)
San Fran: 3 (2 starters)
Santa Clara: 2

Wow a whole conference that has at least 1 WOW they are all doing it wrong

Guys you do realize there were more than 1,000 players in the transfer portal at one point, right? Cite all the examples you want, the fact of the matter is there’s a reason why guys wind up in the portal and in most cases it’s because they’re either not particularly good at basketball or a flaming asshole.

Now do all the transfers who never pan out. It might take you a while, there are literally hundreds of them.

Lol you can say the same thing about recruiting 2 star kids. The point is it is working at some level for almost every team at our level. Except for us, for some reason.

I just named you about 100 transfers in 3 conferences with about 33% of them playing starters minutes on those teams... you can start doing a little research yourself if you actually want to make a point rather than just talking on a message board and tweeting sweet nothings at our coach that you have some unknown love for. EVERYONE other than DAVIDSON and us in 3 comparable conferences does this JIMBO... you seriously don't see an issue?!? every 2 star recruit we sign is this unknown under the radar star to you immediately after signing with Mason, but kids that actually can start on equivalent or better teams are too risky and have attitude problems or suck?

Are you living in LALA land?

The fact of the matter is transfers are apart of the landscape now. It’s a facet of the game and it’s not going anywhere. Either you can take advantage of it, or you can watch your talent leave every year and wonder why it’s not working out for you.

one of your all time fav Mason players was literally charged with a felony while on campus.... Others had 3 kids living with them on campus apartments with 3 different baby mommas. But recruiting assholes like our felon point guard is fine because he wasn't a transfer student lol.
