Not a lot of mentions of Ian Boyd out there in the preseason. Anyone have any idea what to expect from him / how much we will see him on the floor? I expect Ian to be slotted in 7th or 8th in the rotation. It would be a shame for him personally if the freshmen displace him and take his minutes after deciding to come back for his final year of eligibility.A good read in case you haven't seen it.

TBH the less we see Ian, the better we are as a team most likely... no shade to him but that means that some underclassmen are stepping up and overtaking the guy who exclusively plays 3 and occasional D. Playing a 3 in today's game that can't dribble isn't great unless our offense changes and we get penetration and wide open 3s for him to shootNot a lot of mentions of Ian Boyd out there in the preseason. Agreed, we've heard this before. In the past DP has said something to the effect that this is his best team ever..... but he doesn't know how many games we'll win. Will the "SleepingGiant" emerge from his ten year nap?“We have eight guys who have scored double figures at least once returning, and we’re really excited about our freshman class. Since I’ve been here, this is the deepest team we’ve had, the most experienced team we’ve had, the most versatile team we’ve had.”
What’s gonna be the excuse this year? I know we had some injuries last year but I’m not really optimistic about our chances in the A-10 when we return everyone that got us to a 5-13 record and other teams in the league have improved.

I'm with you. And I may be foolish, but I actually believe when DP says that this is his best team yet.Just as a point of optimism: Richmond went 6-12 two seasons ago with one major injury (Nick Sherod), and the only real major addition to the team next season that went 24-7 (14-4) was Blake Francis.
Now, granted, we don't have a Grant Golden or a Jacob Gilyard on this roster, but we do have an AJ Wilson. I'm not saying we'll be a top 4 team this year, but we have a shot of being much better than we were last year (also, Richmond just lost Sherod again, so I have my doubts they're going to finish 1 or 2, so there's an opening).

What concerns me is that we are 1 COVID case away from the season falling apart. Hopefully AJ is living in a bubble. Realistically, any positive test will likely lead to a lot of canceled games. If games do go on with positive testing players sidelined, the A-10 could easily turn into a war of attrition.

Yea your A10 picks in that other thread need to be erased by god himself because it shows you don’t watch other A10 teams at allJust as a point of optimism: Richmond went 6-12 two seasons ago with one major injury (Nick Sherod), and the only real major addition to the team next season that went 24-7 (14-4) was Blake Francis.

Richmond without Nick Sherod might slip. Duquesne is too high at 3rd. I'd flip-flop them with Dayton (Dayton is still going to be really good with Ibi Watson and Jalen Crutcher). Mason at 6th is optimistic, especially putting them over URI (who got all their transfers approved) and UMass (who has Tre Mitchell), it really all depends on how much the team coheres and how much the players around AJ Wilson improved in the offseason, if at all.
1 St. Louis
2 Richmond
3 dayton
4 Duquesne
5 Bona
6 Rhode Island

It really all depends on whether or not Paulsen finds and offense that gets guys open so they aren’t shooting in traffic or desperation’s 3s at the end of shot clocks.

Signed up for ESPN+ today but none of the Mason games later this week were listed nor were any of the games between other teams playing there.
Hoping they will get added once we get a bit closer.
