Makur Maker was rated the 16th best player in the entire 2020 class. Is also 6’11 and a beast and he alone might destroy anyone we put against him. When you’ve got someone who can drop 40 on you, it is entirely possible you spend so much energy trying to stop him that the game gets out of hand (think double and triple teaming him with wide open shooters with all the time in the world to shoot).

On the other side, if we can’t shoot (like is our pattern over the last 5, 6, 10 years) he can easily dominate on the defensive side and that’s game.

Don’t tell me you don’t think it’s possible. Not saying it’ll happen.

Howard was 4 - 29 last year so even with the addition of Maker I will be expecting a win.

I would to, but this team also got taken to OT by a crappy Navy team last season and shot 27% from 3 against LIU and let Raiquan Clark drop 26 points against them.

What do you mean, no real team practices? They’re scrimmaging 5 on 5 on the regular from everything I’ve seen. What am I missing?

Pretty f**king sad that some of us even have a thought that Mason could lose to Howard. Doesn't even matter if they have or don't have Makur and the transfer, there is no excuse for Mason to lose to a school like Howard in basketball.

I'm pretty patient when it comes to things but certain items are no tolerance. Losing to JMU is also on the list (ODU as well, although I have more give there). Also losing games to HBCU schools who aren't ever good at basketball would also qualify.

(I'm not saying that Mason will beat Howard, its just sad to think there's a chance that Mason could lose, but here we are)

Nojel eastern vs any mason point guard is a mismatch and makur is going to be good. How good who knows but like Jim says when it’s convenient for him only ratings matter in the top 25. Just so happens maker falls in top 25.

Mason is going to have to do something big, like beat Maryland, for any activation of the larger fanbase to happen. Beat Maryland, sweep JMU, ODU, and vcu and then we'll see what happens.
