There is one person in the history of basketball who I will never forgive and that's Billy Packer. Russell Turner would become the second.

I hope they hire him. They'll lose their entire incoming recruiting class and probably some of their promising freshmen if they do.

Sounds like a good hire for them. Was SoCon COY last season.

We'll see if he can keep the recruits/players together and their program on the same path. Butler has done it through internal promotions, but going to be pretty difficult following Shaka and the heightened expectations he left behind.

Only time will tell if we, vcu or FU made the better hire. We never considered Wade. I thought we should have given him a look even though he had the stench of vcu still on him.

Wade inherits a lot of talent. He knows vcu and the recruits. Wade is actually less of a risk than when they hired Capel, Grant, or Shaka. He is a known quantity to them. Getting off to a good start means so much to the success of a program. Wade has all the pieces to do well early.

I saw were some UTC fans want them to hire Ballard now. That would be interesting. I don't recall something like that ever happening.

Wade wasn't their first choice until they couldn't get Rhoades.
