Starting to think going cheap in 2011, is gonna really hurt now. I hope Edwards knows what he is doing. We have to convince candidates we arent cheap? Oh boy.

Going to be an interesting hire. Got lots of worries and concerns due to the handling of the last situation and then how that all played out……..and what that has done setting us and BE now.

I think Howland was always going to be a stretch, considering his stature. We are most likely going to hire an assistant or an up and coming coach from a low major. I'm going to guess either Williford or Cherry.

My top 5 list of current head coaches (as of Sunday morning because it changes daily/hourly):

Toole, Masiello, Hurley, Cherry, and Wade.

Got to give Edwards credit for how close to the vest this search is... but it sucks for us not knowing anything!

I also like Prohm a lot.

But we will probably have to wait and see what Alabama, DePaul and Mississippi State do now.

I like Prohm, Brown and Toole. Hurley may be the next Coach K, but he's won once. The other three have proven they can sustain success over a number of years. To me, that is an important trait.
Cherry has no post season success and that sets him behind the others, IMO.

I'll take Howland today if he'd agree to terms.

Too many other "bigger name" openings at this point for us to land Howland in my opinion.

I do like Prohm, but I don't see him coming here - I only see him moving for a job like Alabama.

Sadly, I think you are correct. Poole might still be possible but I think we will get the roll of the dice hot young assistant.

At first, its gonna feel like we went from a pinto to 3 series BMW b/c of how low we have been. But once you see the product on the floor, it will feel and look like an S CLASS AMG. I won't say a Ferrarri, b/c the players are proven knuckleheads.

I'll say this, the new coach has coached basketball in the past. He's somewhere between 5ft and 7ft tall. He's older than 25, but younger than 80. He also wears pants sometimes. I've probably said too much.
