Looks like Tennessee will be hiring a new coach. Reports are Tyndall will be fired due to NCAA violations after one year. They tried to hire Mike White last year but was turned down. My guess is Prohm will be on their list.

Prohm just agreed to a new contract with Murray State:

The guaranteed contract increases Prohm's base salary to $490,000. With his radio/tv obligations, the total package will be $500,000 annually, plus incentives.

I am shocked that Prohm didn't wait for his alma mater to hire before agreeing to a contract extension. Maybe there is an "alma mater clause" where he can walk without a buyout.

I imagine anyone we hire will be under a current contract. I see this less as a deal-breaker than covering the bases and setting a baseline for potential options.

Also, why is Prohm the end all be all? Murray State has done exceptionally well under him, but he was also handed a team that had gone 31-5 the two previous seasons and hadn't finished below second in conference in 9 years. In fact, in 24 years, their two worst seasons were a 3rd & 4th place finish - lots of winning tradition already in place.
